Choosing a niche - just like falling off a bike

I was inspired to write this when I found myself replying to a fellow WA members question "how do I choose a niche?"

This was tough for me at first because all I wanted to focus on was "What will bring in the most dollars". So, I considered weight loss, Forex, dating - the usual suspects. But, I just could not get fired-up about any of those topics.

Then, kind of gradually, I began to notice that I frequently rant about certain topics. I'm always railing against the injustice of this or that. Or, shaking my damn head about how people could be so ignorant to the process of blah, blah, blah.

So, I thought: If these are topics I can't shut up about, then maybe these should be my niches.

Unfortunately, once I realized the wisdom of this process, I discovered there were several things I wanted to use as my niche. I became overwhelmed (and unfocused).

But, I had to start with one. So, I chose Contracting. As in "Independent Contracting". This is something I've been doing most of my adult life. I can talk about that for hours and hours and hours. Plus, if I share that knowledge with others, then I'm helping people. I love that too!

Anyway, the point here is to help those who might be struggling with trying to figure out a niche to build their site around. You already have some topics, you just need ask yourself:
