On to the Future
(I wrote this Wednesday morning in the wee hours after midnight, but my beloved Verizon Wireless Broadband went down and did not get to post.Only thing new is I picked up a line on a JC game for Friday afternoon in Mt. Pleasant, and spent today playing around with niches and Jaaxy looking for keywords.)
Well, finished up my little soccer Odyssey last night. 7 days, 960 miles, and 29 assorted soccer games. Things should calm down and be more normal the rest of the season.
Next up is Classic League at Richland College on Saturday and Men League Sunday afternoon at Moss park. Between now and then play with the grand kids, rest, get further along on my IM, and oil changes on both "The Black Bird" and the old pickup. Oh, and read a little..
Last night at indoor had a good experience. In the third game we had one of our problem teams . When they are winning they are good. When they lose they start knocking the other team around and complaining. Not all the players, as there are 3 players who a I respect the way they play the game. However the rest are a good case for abortion until the child's age of 40.
Anyway, they got strummed and with that the inevitable bad behavior resulting. So we stepped up and called the fouls. We carded the worst offenses, kept things fair, and managed for no one to suffer any fatal injuries. By the end of the game the losing players were loudly complaining that the refs had cost them the game. Couldn't have possibly been the other team just played better and out hustled them.
As we left the field after the game one of the losing team could not help acting like a goober (thank you Pot Pie Girl, it is a good description). He'd be shocked to know how little I respect his opinion and ought to save his breath. But I try not to waste my time with stupid people so I made one comment and carried on with business.
The pay off for me came when 4 or 5 of the other team's players individually came up and thanked the other ref and I for keeping the game under control. Made my week complete.
Hope everyone has a productive and satisfying week.
God bless.
(Oh, added another post to my RefereeSoccerWars blog if anyone cares to check it out.)

Sounds like you are gonna wind down a bit. A break is always helpful!
I shouldn't have another stretch like that this season. Which is bad as I enjoyed so much, but which is good as I will have time to press on with the WAU.
Hope all is well with you.
God bless.
