I am thinking of my niche and wondering if home audio is a good niche. So home audio; speakers, subs, soundbars, etc. I could start with sound bars or smaller portable speakers

If you're knowledgeable enough about it to talk use and setup and then suggest which products from there I don't see why not.
I don't think I am the most knowledgeable at this but I know more than just the basics. I have been doing some research and learning as well. I think it is something that has my interest and I am able to expand on it for sure.
That works too. Just as long as you're willing to put in the research so you can help people with the A/V needs you should be alright. The trick is making sure you aren't just pushing product. Tell how and where to use what, then you're set up to suggest products.
