Day 70 90-day Plan
It's Sunday evening and I haven't had time to write this blog since Friday. Too much to do. I have; however, kept up with the emails.
I wrote a 6,600 word post a few weeks ago that I cut into f our separate posts that are on my site. Then it someone I respect here at WA suggested I turn the original post into an eBook. Great idea.
Only problem is that a post is not in book format. Back to work. Dig in.
I've re-written the entire introduction and finished pulling in the first quarter of the content. To do that I had to create more of a book format. Create the Table of Contents section and page layout format. Figure out how to bring the Excel comparison charts in so that they fit, are readable and look good.
I will get it done by the end of the day Tuesday. Unfortunately, everything else has stopped. It has my complete attention. And as I've been doing this I've been asking myself some questions.
Should I be spending all my time writing and working on the site and less with the community and writing update blogs like this one? I don't write the lengthy instruction blogs others write not that I can't or don't want to - it's just a matter of time. I'm behind on training and writing and I'm at this 6 to 10 hours a day almost every day including weekends. Right now I should be working on the eBook.
Should I care about my rank? Even a rank of 5 won't improve my site or increase visitors and conversions. Should I spend so much time everyday on WA emails?
Hard choices. The WA community is awesome and so very helpful and supportive.
I don't have any answers to these questions but I have about another hour to work and I need to begin the third section of the eBook so signing off for now.

I'm still very new to WA and even I struggle as I have still to get through the training but do get distracted by the wonderful things that people like you post.
I think in my case and will have to try and not get distracted and get on with the training and building my site, and then return and learn from the community and also then try and contribute.
It's a difficult one to answer, possibly spend a third of the time writing for the community???
Yes it's hard to strike that balance and you also need the break from focusing on the training and working on the site. At some point anything done too much can become unproductive. We'll keep working on improving our balance.
Good post Steve, I believe that the ranking is important, and understand that many, including me, spend 50% of their time here in the community and the other percentage writing blog posts, promotion
Both those last two are equally important
If it helps, I go through this site in a logical order, starting with any Personal Profile comments, followed by any PMs I might have
From there its dashboard time, which answered through my gmail account
Then I will implement a lesson from which ever stage of the course I am on, currently its in the afiiliate bootcamp, which then leads on to writing a blog post.
I tend to do How to Videos for different reasons, but thats how I do mine
sounds like a good plan. I spend a lot of time on the writing and formatting. a little compulsive but I always want my work to be the best it can be. I'll get the eBook done by Wednesday but full time steam ahead to to that.
Time is something we all need more of, and each day, we have to make a decision how to spend it. You are completely right, a higher rank within WA won't do anything to your site, or your eBook. On the other hand, you want to keep in touch with the community and at least maintain your rank. I think we just have to accept our limitations - we can only do so much in 24 hours and you are doing very well.
I keep trying. My rank is okay and keeps going slowly down. The community is always great. I need to thank everyone for their constant unwavering support and good wishes.

I see you like to wear your headphones whilst typing - very cool pic of you above! Slimmer than I envisaged.

Time management - 4 slots of 15 minutes, may keep on top of messages and welcomes to new members.

Thanks, Wayne. Yea that a pretty emaciated picture but sometimes you feel like you've worked yourself to the bone so to speak. Funny things is I have great headphones (Sennheiser) but I haven't been using them.
I've not used Sennheiser. When I was into gadgets, I was always a fan of Boss and Harman Kardon. I settle for iPhone head phones whilst travelling. I still enjoy quality, not my headphones of choice!
My mailbox went from empty to 51 in 30 minutes?

My daughter just got a new Google phone and tried the recommended headphones which were $100. Said they were awful, returned them and got Sennheiser and loves them especially for music. They do go from inexpensive to very expensive and you get what you pay form. HK were always good. but I've never used Boss myself.
I originally bought the Sennheiser's for use with my piano.
I know exactly what you mean about the mailbox. It quickly gets out of hand.
Is there a controller for mail any settings - I thought someone posted some settings? Slow it a little?
I tried Boss head phones a few months ago, they were excellent but as you say, it's what you pay, as with anything.

Steve, I'd say focus on the E-Book 12 Hours per day. Every hour take 10 minute breaks and during that time come and write comments on WA blogs, particularly mine.
You cannot focus all your time on your E-Book, we (I) need you here to also provide necessary levity.
Thanks, you always make me laugh. Good advice. You know what they say, the advice is only as good as (1) where it comes from and (2) how much you pay for it. Where does that leave us.
All kidding aside, I will get the eBook by or in Wednesday.

You have highlighted an issue we all struggle with; I hope a compromise can be found soon, we don't want to lose that community spirit.Thanks for sharing.
The most important thing is your business! Don't get too wrapped up in rank here, It will not make the money that your thriving website will.
When things are up and running like a well-oiled machine you will then have more time to hang out here in WA! If you spread yourself to thin you will burn out.
You can't do it all at once.

I agree with you. Already burned out two weeks ago but I had a number of things to do that weren't WA which kept me busy for a week and recharged my WA batteries
