A Big Thank You

Today is Memorial Day here in the States when we remember those who gave for the freedoms we enjoy and often take for granted. While I don’t want to take away from this important day and thanking those who have served and are serving, I’d like to thank two people here at WA who help us every day and especially on GDPR compliance over the past few weeks.

We have entered a new world here at WA and we’re all learning as we go. Like children in the dark, we are feeling our way forward one step at a time. I, as many of you have and will do, often need training on some aspect of WA or my website that I find challenging.

I follow the best practice procedure of entering the topic of my search into the search bar at the top of the web page and push the Enter key. Then a list of training options pops up: Title, Likes, and Author and I look for the title that closely matches my request and, if you’re like me, an author who you know will address the question fully and clearly.

By education, I am a teacher and a technologist. I have had the responsibility of creating technology training for adults and know how hard it is to create high-quality easy-to-follow products. So, I look for training that is to the point, easy to follow, and most importantly correct. Training that helps me accomplish my task quickly without adding additional confusion. For sure, I’m confused enough.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve all been challenged by the new GDPR requirements of the EU. Many hours of writing blogs and asking questions have been dedicated to this topic.

Three of our WA colleagues have spent many hours doing the research, writing blogs and creating training to help us all get it right. We owe these three people a big THANK YOU for their time and effort and more importantly their selfless caring focus on helping ALL OF US get it right.

The thing is this is not just about meeting the GDPR requirements. They do this all the time, every day, for everyone, on every WA topic imaginable and (as far as I can tell) they are always right.

Loes, Marion, and MozMary it is not my intention to embarrass you but we need to thank you both for all the support on meeting the GDPR requirements and more importantly the help you give us all every day. We are all lucky to have you here and proud to call you colleagues and friends.

Now even though today is a holiday here in the States, I have to go watch the last video Marion posted “GDPR: Installing and Setting up the WP GDPR Compliance Plugin” and “GDPR Data request plugin” posted by Loes yesterday to make sure I've got it right as I’m a little behind as usual.

Very thoughtful of you and thanks for sharing. For those of us that may not have come across the GDPR compliance, thanks for letting us know about it.
For Loes and other members they deserve a very big thank you for their constant support to all. God bless you all

so true and if you haven't Marion video makes it easy to understand how to be ready for this requirement

Very well said and I couldn't agree with you more!!

Thanks

I couldn't agree more, Steve. I really appreciate all the training Loes, Marion and MozMary put together for us. A bit thank you to them all!

Absolutely

Yes they are so helpful to everyone, thanks a million, Loes Marion and MozMary, Best Alan

Hi Steven, how very thoughtful of you to post a wonderful thank you like this to three ladies - and a gent, Kyle - who are so very generous with their knowledge.

All the best,

Brian

Thanks, Brian

Thanks, Steve I agree with you all the way. I am thankful for Memorial Day and to the ones you mentioned here.

These 3 are caring and wonderful people!

Thanks for the reminder Steve!

frank

Hi Frank, Needed to be said I thought. You still staying away from all that volcanic ash floating around?

GDPR reminds me of the Y2K scare years ago. But I am trying to be compliant.

yea but this is a bit more serious because it's about our information and there are so many abuses.

I am behind too Steven, infact I was so sick of GDPR, in my inbox, on my T.V and on here. I figured I would just let the debate continue and then as you say to look to Loes and Marion and even Kyle who has supplied a new privacy policy for us, so I could just take the shortest route to getting it right.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen

I know the feeling. Wait till the dust settles and do it once.

Thanks Steven, very nice to mention me, but you forget to mention one, MozMary has done a tremendous job for the GDPR too

She has been added. Thanks for the correction. See, always right.

I ♥ to be right!

of course you do

Awesome tribute to Loes and Marion. I really appreciate both of their step-by-step training and guidance since I'm such a newbie and I'm learning this business. Kudos. Thanks for the post!
