I don't spend a whole lot of time link building since we're taught here that it's not a priority (I don't know that we're told it's completely pointless, but it's not really a focus) since it's not as important as it once was.

However, link building still does have some value, even if it's just for getting extra traffic. One thing you can do for DO follow links is to guest post on blogs in your niche. Try to find ones that get good traffic and are relatively high authority (Majestic, Ahrefs, and Moz are good places to see that info). It's not just about link juice, though, it's about traffic, too.

Now, some of the links you get might be NO follow, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. One of the best places to get no follow links that not only juice up your seo, but also provide great traffic is Wikipedia. How do you do that? Well, there are some tactics that will help you get many good links from Wiki if you are willing to provide quality, relevant content to the Wiki community.

Matthew Woodward is a great resource on this stuff, and he provides some great Wikipedia link building training. Again, even if it doesn't help much with seo (and Matt Cutts says links still have an impact, just not in the same way they used to), it can be an awesome source of direct traffic. Plus, if you actually submit content to Wikipedia, the benefits can be HUGE, and it can make you stand out as an authority in your niche!
