Making some big changes and need help putting together the right plan
Hello again everyone,
Any and all comments welcome although I am specifically looking for feedback from the seasoned and "already done what I'm trying to do" crowd. :)
Due to some family events and life changes, I and my wife are faced with some tough choices... Tough yes... but hopefully good and rewarding as well.
We have decided that we do not want to continue with things how they currently are. Quite frankly, after 13 years, my wife is still in the same position she started with her current job and it is time for a change. Things are just not going her way at work and they do not appreciate her time and effort she has put in.
Working in the IT field I do, my job situation seems to change every year or two and I am coming up on that all too familiar "change" phase.
So, as things stand now, our situation is less than ideal however I know we are in the right place and clearly at the right time now...
We have 7 months to figure out a game plan AND implement it.
As usual, there are some criteria that must be met for this plan to be considered a success and there are (in no particular order):
1. Whatever we do MUST replace both of our incomes
2. We want to create something that we can both do together
3. Focusing on our individual skills, figure out which parts each of us are going to contribute in
4. We want a situation where we can be anywhere in the world (That has an internet connection) and open up our laptop and "go to work"
Ok, so the above is the ultimate goal. So now we must look at where we currently are so we can determine how to reach those goals...
1. I am currently working through the Affiliate Bootcamp and am on Course 2 Lesson 1
2. Have 1 website created with a small amount of content in which I plan on and have been promoting WA
3. Have 1 website created in a small niche of home recording studios.
4. Neither site has generated any income as of yet (Which I haven't expected them to... yet)
So, we have a specific time frame, a specific $ amount we know we need on a regular basis, and know where we currently stand.
My thought is to get the WA promoting site up ASAP and generating sign ups creating commissions that will allow my wife and I to live off that while we grow 1, 2 3 or even 10 sites that will generate enough income to become financially free.
The Bible tells us in one particular place that, "You have not because you ask not..."
So, here I am asking...
Understanding that I am going to continue the Affiliate Bootcamp, Is there anyone who is living our future dream that would mentor us so that we could reach our 7-month goal?
We would appreciate the help.

I would probably say continue and push hard if this 7-month goal is what you and your wife are looking towards. It CAN be done, I'm only 2 weeks in and my site is coming along nicely and looks good.. Just need to finish my content (mine is geared towards Korean makeup/skincare/beauty, which is exploding in many areas. I'm also focusing on oily skin products and reviews because there honestly isn't much for people with my skin type out there.. BOO!)
I will say this, I have been working in the IT field for the last 8 years, it will ALWAYS change. I'm going for a 2nd Master's myself, but this is a fun side gig I decided to do and have always wanted to blog. I have another site (I'm a single mother to a 10-year-old boy with severe ADHD and tendencies of Autism). That site is geared towards single parents, parenting advice, product reviews, etc.
Keep your focus and work on your content EVERY DAY. It won't get done if you push it off to the side, you will get what you put into it. I haven't worked on my site much this week, but last night I sat down for 2 hours and plugged away. And at work when I have some time I plug away too.
Research, research, research. Check out your competition, look at all of the videos they have to offer here. Look at what SEO keywords you have, compare to what the competition has and shows with your niche. Always look at the readability factors too (there will be times it will be crap) but not much you can do to some extent. Mine is red for About Me and my Privacy Policy. Nothing you can do about those but definitely look at what it tells you to improve.
Go to Google Analytics, understand it and make sure once your site is running you're checking your stats. There's ALWAYS room for improvement, make sure you utilize us to help you with your site and give good feedback to help you.
I know this wasn't saying much, but hope some of that helps!

Glad to hear that you are doing well with your sites. Keep up the good work!
For me, I know focus is one of my key elements. With work being what it is, when I get home I'm beat so I HAVE to press on to make things happen.
