The Shawshank Redemption
Greetings to all from Adelaide in South Australia...
My Sunday has just finished but for most of you it is just starting and I hope you all having a great day!
It's not often I sit down on a Sunday night and watch a movie on television (and put up with all the ads!)
Well, tonight I did...I thought I would treat myself after the milestone I reached today! (I don't drink much alcohol anymore! :)
It has been a long time since I have watched the Shawshank Redemption (nominated for 7 Oscars) starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, story written by Stephen King.
From Wikipedia, here is the main theme...
"Chicago Sun-Times film reviewer Roger Ebert argued that The Shawshank Redemption is an allegory for maintaining one's feeling of self-worth when placed in a hopeless position. Andy Dufresne's integrity is an important theme in the story line, especially in prison, where integrity is lacking. Isaac M. Morehouse suggests that the film provides a great illustration of how characters can be free, even in prison, or unfree, even in freedom, based on their outlooks on life.
Actor Tim Robbins noted that the story is unique in depicting a nonsexual love story between two men."
If ever there was a movie which carries the message of hope and freedom then this is the movie you must see!

I've seen that movie a few times but still get glued to it when I cone across it on the TV. And it makes me think to never give up hope.
Always get hooked in, when I flip by and see this on. I love the ending, going to Mexico and living on the beach. Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorites also Steve. The planning, preparation and execution of his escape is also an example of thinking outside the box to find solutions.
