Thanks To All For Your Concern!

It has been quite some time since I have posted anything here at WA and I just wanted to let all my followers know that I am still hanging around!

It was back on March 17th I let everyone know I had been given some bad news regarding my skin cancer problems.

Since then I've had 8 of the cancers removed from my face and temples...all but one have been malignant BUT the GOOD NEWS is none of them have made it to my lymph nodes...one came close...within point 3 of a millimetre!

I had the stitches taken out last Friday from the cuts 2 weeks ago...and I have 3 more to be cut out in the next 2 weeks They seem to be growing faster than the doctor can cut them out.

It has all been a bit harrowing but I'm hanging in there and I'm determined to beat them!

To all of you who have sent me a private message THANK YOU...you know who you are!

If you have fair skin (or not)...please beware of the SUN!

As much as we all love the SUN, especially when summer arrives, please be careful, sometimes the SUN does not like US!

My doctor nearly fell off his chair LAUGHING last Friday when I told him my new name is FRANKENSTEVE!

Thanks for taking the time...I know how busy you are!

Best wishes and much success...

Steve :)

How did I miss this one, you sneaked this one in. As I knew what was happening already it wasn't like a big shock to read this.

By the way, I hope that's not you sneaking away to see that Teddy Bear in Dixie before you're coming to Scotland to take me for beer.

I can easily go off people you know lol. xx

Hi Steve,
I clicked the like button for support.
Just like to share with you a remarkable true story and I swear to god.
My mother had part of her leg cut out 26 years ago for skin cancer.
Back then they didn't know what they know now.
The melanoma back came back 10 years later. I was in the Philippines at the time and received an urgent message from my father to come home ASAP Dad said " your mother has 3 months to live" 16 years ago. They took mum's lymph nodes, took a third of her right lung, it went to her brain, they applied chemo on her brain. I am proud of mum AND I gave her a hug and a kiss on mother's day almost two weeks ago on May 14 2017. She was smiling and all happy.

What an amazing story!
Please give her my best...and I'm hanging in there! :)
Thanks for your message!

Thanks Steve I will.

Yes Steve, many who felt sad for her years ago have passed while she still enjoys a beer now and again.

Cheers mate

All the best

Brad

Hi Steve,
Just thought I would check up on how you're going?

Oh I am so glad I came across this. I've been so worried about you. With good reason too, it looks like. I'm sorry you are going through all this. I will double up on prayers for you. You are NOT Frankensteve!! You are still Super Steve! I'm praying that all this is soon just a nasty memory for you. Xoxoxo

Bullette

Hi there my bestie in PA!

I have been meaning to get in touch but things have been a bit hectic to say the least!

I will get back to you later with a PM...

Steve xx

Hi Steve. This is the first I hear of your condition. I have already prayed for you and I am convinced of your total healing. I just have to ask you one thing which I am sure that you are already doing. Please DO NOT wear the label of your condition whatever you do. Wishing you extreme recovery and health.

Thanks for your very kind message and no I don't wear the label!
Your prayers are appreciated Arnold :)

Glad to hear everything's getting better---now just wear the highest SPfFwhen out and don't stay out in the sun

I am very sensitive to the sun because I have fair skin and never stay out in the sun unless I'm in the pool

when we were much younger we spent hour in the sun at the beach---no more

Thanks Davida...

I'm too scared to go to the beach anymore so I don't go!

Like you I spent hours and hours in the sun as a youngster and we didn't even know about sun screen! I used to get terribly sunburnt and never think anything about it!

Like you...no more!

Steve, I'm thrilled to see you back. I'm truly sorry that I missed the post were you let us know about your cancer.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen anything from you lately.

All of us fair skinned people want to think it won't happen to us. Thank you for the reminder that we are playing an extremely risky game to think otherwise.

I'm sorry that pesky nasty things just don't want to stay gone. You are in my prayers. Hopefully, we will see your around more in the upcoming weeks.

Thanks for your kind words Sondra...much appreciated!

Fair skin and today's Sun are not a good mix!

Glad that things are looking good so far with your medical condition Steve. Keep hanging in there my friend. The battle is tough but you are a strong one and will beat it in the end. Know that there are many out there wishing you well and are looking forward to your full recovery. Cancer in all forms is wicked and is surely not friends of ours. Hopefully one day medical science will come up with cures for all of them. Take care of yourself and continue to keep up your positive attitude.
Jerome

Hi Jerome...
Thanks for your message...
I'm not giving up!
Don't forget...I'm coming to see you in Anchorage...you're my tour guide! :)

Absolutely right Steve.
Jerome

I can hardly wait! :)

Good morning Steve, I am glad to know you are doing better. I lost my dad to skin cancer 20 years ago, he was a linesman for South Western Bell in his younger days and never took the time to take care of his skin by wearing long sleeve shirts while out in the sun for hours a day. Sure do miss him, you take care o.k.
Garland

Thanks Garland...
Many people don't realize just how bad skin cancer can be!
I'm sorry you lost your dad to this terrible condition...
Thanks for your kind wishes and I will do as you suggest!
All the best to you...
Steve

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Garland

Steve - I'm glad to hear you are doing well and that you are back posting again. Take care of yourself and thanks for reminding us the dangers of over exposure to the Sun. I am fair skinned, so I wear sunblock when outside and shade is always my best friend. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Patrick...
Glad to hear you're looking after yourself from the Sun!

Sorry Steve, I had no idea. In fact I was wondering where you had gone, but I don't like to pry.
It seems you are coming out at the other end now, you are a good friend and person. I am sure you will be firing on all cylinders very soon.
From a personal point of view you are sorely missed here at WA, really looking forward when you are back with us full time.

I miss our banter pal !!!

John

Thanks John...all is well for the moment...
You've had enough on your plate and I hope things are sorting themselves in your part of the world!
Won't be too long and I'll be firing again!
Take care
Steve
