How to drive your brain

There is a saying, "...put your brains into gear before opening your mouth to speak..." which is something that many people do not do, but think that they have done afterwards.

Actually, they try and convince themselves that they had done so before speaking. And we call that going into denial, usually related to that person being presented with the actual facts about what they said, but refusing to admit that they were wrong.

It is better to tell them that they did not have their brain in gear before they said what they said, rather than call them up on what they actually said, as that will cause them to THINK that what they said MAY be incorrect. And their NEXT THOUGHTS will be about why ?

To get them to speak those thoughts as to WHY they thought that before they spoke, ask them,"... WHY did you THINK that?..." ( the key words here are "did" and "you" ) as this invites them to explain what they are actually thinking at that point.

Now their brain is in gear. It is, in a millie-second, scanning all the recorded memory files on what they said, just as your brain did when they spoke and said what they did, and it is an automatic sub-conscious reaction that cannot be interrupted, controlled, or stopped.

Now we are in gear, and moving. Look for anything that may walk out in front of you, watch behind, and keep an eye on approaching traffic. Your brain can get overloaded quickly now, so KISS everything ( keep it short and simple ) that presents itself, and assess the situation fully. Is this particular video about what I need now, or later ? How do I change up a gear, or should I even consider doing that at this point ?

Slow down, traffic jam ahead. Stop for those pedestrians, and watch the guy on the bike beside you.

How fast are you going ? Too fast? Then slow down, revisit the information you have received and check for understanding correctly. Is your seat comfortable ? Are you able to "drive" your brain ( feed it correct information and then act on it ) in a comfortable manner ?

Is the person/s giving you information QBE ?

Or is it just his/her opinion based on scant information like a long range weather prediction ?

Are you using the TFAR Process correctly ?

I am going to stop now, at this point, with this post. I know what you have thought about in general terms as you have read this post. Because your thoughts have been AUTOMATIC. Key words have got your brain's attention, just like key words will get your website visitors, and the associated thoughts they have will be EITHER good, or bad. ( positive or negative ) However, to make it possible to have good thoughts, we need good information food for our brains. Hence the title, "HOW TO DRIVE YOUR BRAIN"

And you are now in 1st gear, cruising along, looking for obstacles, watching out for new street signs, and your brain is ticking over in a positive way. You feel happy about most of what your brain has learnt up to now, feel a little worried about the next gear, but know that you have many, many people around you that have gone through the gears and are here to help you do the same.

Keep on moving, progress is good. Good thoughts, good feelings, good actions ALWAYS bring good results.

Your comments on this post, and all my posts, are always welcome. It helps me, help you.

Kind Regards to you and your family.
