They are asking me to confirm my website by adding a tag to my homepage but i cant find where on my website to place it? Does anyone know where?

Both options mentioned in the comments will work. It really just depends on how comfortable you are using Wordpress.

Here's a guide to adding code manually: If you don't want to mess with that just download and use the plugin.

The old fashioned (techy) way is to go to appearnce->editor. In the list of files you will see header.php. Click that.

Copy the code they want you to add and paste it into the very top of that file. Do not delete or paste over any other part.

Save and that's it.

Fullerlj's suggested plugin might make this easier. I've never used it and I tend to use the least amount of plugins as I can because they slow down your site.

Thank you! Yes i have heard that plugin slow down your website so i am reluctant in getting them!

Yes I too worry about slowing down my site. Is there a way to clean it up? For the non tech person?

I try to keep things simple but even my simple can be complex for many.

1. Only use plugins you absolutely need.
2. WA has SitePlus+ that Premium Members can use. In that there is SiteSpeed. Make sure that is on. And set it to extreme this will speed up your site. Site speed is important and many don't really know that.

The above is found under Websites -> Site Manager -> The Domain you want to check and in the bottom corner SitePlus+.

Hope that helps,
- Glen B

Yes. Thank bunches

After you add it and activate it go to settings and click on it. Then paste the code into the header section and save.

Does this help?

Laura

I tried to place my privacy page in the footer but my site theme layout doesnt have a footer option. Do i have to place the privacy page in the main menu?

No. But part of the google quality raters guidelines is that the privacy policy, about us/me and contact pages are clearlyand easily located.

I just went through the GDPR compliance for my website and it appears to be a very good idea to have it in the main menu so it is easy to find.

Best wishes,
Karin :)

thank you!

... Jay our WA trainer just did a fabulous WAbinar on Custom Menus -- wherein, "not all menu themes are created equal."

Apparently, all WordPress themes have different default locations and it sounds like in your case, no footer ... so check out his show for some super helpful suggestions: about an hour to view: hope this helps you ... cheerio... :)

Thank you!

you're most welcome! ... :)

Hey Spencer,

It is wish to make it readily available... but... you could put it in your footer if you prefer (that's what I did). Here's how: Hope you find this helpful.

It is a best practice, as it covers your butt if anything were to ever happen.

Is there a way to change a post that has been published into a page?

I use post page switcher plug in and just deactivate when not in use.
Blessings

Here is a training on this subject

If your post has not been indexed, just copy it, delete it and then paste it in as a page. However, if it's been indexed, you don't want to do that, and there are plug-ins that can assist you with that so you don't get redirect errors. I can't recommend one specifically because I've never had to use one.

I have created my site and i am getting comments and some traffic but not a lot yet. Im seeing more customization on other sites though like email subscription, ads, related po

If you're already receiving traffic you can set up an email subscription service, but it doesn't have to be done right away there're free options but eventually you'll want to upgrade to a paid service such as Aweber.

Related posts is always a good idea and if your theme doesn't do it automatically you can add a plugin and have that set up within a few minutes.

With that being said your primary focus should still be creating content to drive traffic to your site.

You should be able to change your link color by hovering over appearance > customize > colors > and should be an option for link color.

Hope this helps,

Brok

The sooner you start your list the better Spencer. A lot will be dependant on having an autoresponder.

Derek

it depends whether you want to pay for an autoresponder or not. if you have one it is never to early to start a list. Please don't use afree one because in the end, you will lose your list.

Should i ask people to subscribe this early in the game?
