Big news for creators and affiliate marketers: As of today, July 29, 2025, Ideogram just rolled out something game-changing, the brand new Character feature! If you’ve ever dreamed of making your own mascot or character that looks the same every time, whether it’s for your website, your socials, or just for fun, this tool is about to make your life a whole lot easier (and a lot more fun).

Why does this matter now?

With personal branding and visual storytelling more important than ever, having a consistent character or avatar can set you apart online, whether you’re running a blog, building a following, or promoting affiliate offers. No more mismatched graphics or hiring a designer for every new post. Ideogram’s update puts powerful, creative control right in your hands, instantly.

Ever wish you could create a character or mascot for your website and have it look the same in every image, no matter the background or scene? With Ideogram’s latest update, that wish is now a reality. Consistency and creativity are finally working together, and you don’t have to be a designer to pull it off.

What Can You Actually Do with Ideogram Character?

  • Upload One Photo, and You’re Off:
All you need is a clear picture, your face, your pet, a doodle, whatever you want to turn into your character. Ideogram takes that one image and builds your digital twin (or mascot) for you.
  • Consistency Across Every Image:
Pop your character into any graphic, blog headers, Pinterest pins, social posts, or memes. No matter where you use them, your character keeps their signature look, so your brand visuals stay polished and professional.
  • Choose What to Keep, Change What You Want:
Want to switch up outfits or backgrounds while keeping the same face? There’s an easy tool for that. Just “highlight” what features you want to stay the same (like the face), and Ideogram does the rest, no design skills required.
  • Endless Styles, Zero Fuss:
Ask for a cartoon version, a superhero twist, or just a new background, and watch Ideogram work its magic. You type, it delivers. Simple as that.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Your Brand, Your Way:
Whether you’re building a following, running affiliate campaigns, or just having fun, your visuals can finally match your vision.
  • Save Time (and Money):
No more waiting on freelancers or messing around with complicated design tools.
  • It’s Actually Fun:
Warning: You might find yourself making more memes or graphics than you planned, just because you can.

See Ideogram Character in Action: My Test Runs

To really see what the new Ideogram Character feature can do, I decided to put it through its paces with a few fun (and slightly ridiculous) experiments. Here’s how it went:

1. The Betty White Snickers Meme – Starring Me!

For my first test, I couldn’t resist swapping my own face into that classic Betty White Snickers commercial meme.

Betty White holding a Snickers bar in the classic Snickers commercial meme, with the caption 'You're not you when you're hungry...

Sonia's face swapped onto Betty White in the Snickers commercial meme, holding a Snickers bar, with the caption '...but apparently you're me!'

This was the perfect way to see if Ideogram could keep my features recognizable even in a famous, meme-worthy moment, and honestly, the result cracked me up.

2. My Harry Potter Moment — Magic Meets Affiliate Marketing

Next, I went full wizard. I used Ideogram to swap my face into a magical scene, robes, wand, Hogwarts backdrop and all.

Sonia's face swapped onto Harry Potter in front of Hogwarts, wearing wizard robes and glasses, with the caption 'When your Hogwarts letter gets lost but AI delivers the magic anyway'

It’s official: If I can’t get into Hogwarts, at least my digital twin can!

3. Out of This World (or Just on Vacation?)

I wanted to test how Ideogram handled completely new backgrounds. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Explorer at the Pyramids

Sonia dressed as an explorer with a sun hat and backpack, standing in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza at sunset

Jurassic Adventure

Sonia running and smiling in a jungle setting, being chased by a large dinosaur in the rain, inspired by Jurassic Park

A Quick Note on Access

As of launch, the Ideogram Character feature is available to everyone, whether you’re using a free account or a paid subscription. So you can test out all these creative options without needing to upgrade.

Final Thoughts

Trying out Ideogram Character in these different scenarios really opened up a whole world of possibilities. From memes to make-believe travel to pure magic, I was able to stay “me” in every image and have way more fun with my visuals.

Wow Sonia, this is super exciting! 🤩 Thanks for breaking it down so clearly.

I’ve been looking for a way to create consistent visuals without needing a designer every time — this Ideogram Character tool sounds like the perfect solution.

The Hogwarts and Jurassic examples really made me smile 😄 — love how you’re testing the limits creatively. I can already imagine using this for Pinterest pins, blog headers, and maybe even a few “just-for-fun” memes too!

Time to go test it out myself — thanks again for the awesome preview! 🚀

Glad you found this useful! Honestly, I was in the same boat, tired of trying to match visuals by hand or waiting on a freelancer. The new Character feature is a game-changer if you want a polished look across your brand, especially for quick pins or blog graphics.

You’ll have fun experimenting. The Hogwarts and Jurassic images were just my warm-up! If you try it out, let me know what you make. I always love seeing what other creators come up with (and if you discover any tricks, share them!).

Happy creating, can’t wait to see your first batch of Ideogram characters!

Haha, Sonia the movie star!

Hey Sonia,

You seem to be smiling and placid even though a dinosaur spitting sparks and fire is chasing you! Are you wearing your own glasses or Harry's?

It is amazing what AI can do, but at the same time, I saw some scary information on YouTube, which I put in the live chat if you want to watch it. Yes, I agree with all your points above. We can really take advantage of these powerful tools to help us stand out in business and make the process smoother and easier.

Haha, thanks for the movie star shoutout! And yes, those are definitely my own glasses, Harry’s might have more magical powers, but mine are strictly for seeing (and maybe dodging the occasional spark-spitting dinosaur).

I totally get what you mean about AI, it’s equal parts exciting and a little bit “sci-fi thriller” at times! I’ll check out the video you shared in the live chat. The key (for me, anyway) is staying curious but cautious, and always focusing on how these tools can actually help us connect and create value.

Appreciate you joining the conversation and sharing your insights. Here’s to using AI for good, and maybe starring in a few more action scenes along the way!

Sonia
