My Rant for the Day
I guess I'm a slacker!
I got a notice this morning that my application for Amazon was denied again because I had not made the qualifying sales for the past 180 days. It is very frustrating to get this message when you work so hard to make sure your links are up-to-date and you are working to make your website what you would like it to be. Just when I feel like I'm making progress - Zap!
I do have other affiliate links on my sites but when I am excited about a book or other item and I use the Amazon link it is hard to remember later they are there and then have to update them later if I sign up again. When you have more than one website or a lot of posts on your site how are you supposed to remember which ones have an affiliate link later.
I really don't understand what the deal is with killing the account. It doesn't affect Amazon whatsoever. I have other affiliate links where I have been an affiliate for over two years. Do they kill my account? No.
What is the deal Amazon? Do you not understand how time-consuming this is?
I'll survive. I'll make a comeback eventually. It is just so very frustrating!
Rant over!

Hi Pamela,
I call it a worthy rant. For the amount of commission you get from Amazon, they ask a lot.
I do not understand the 180-day limit to sell 3 items.

Hey Pamela sorry to hear about your Amazon trouble. Perhaps you can use an excel spreadsheet or other program you are familiar with to keep better track of your affiliate links. I am aware as well that there is affiliate tracking software but I have not used any.

It's just like you said in the end, you'll survive! The entire experience has surely taught you valuable lessons to help improve your skills as an affiliate marketer.
The thing with Amazon is that they run the business like a start up, in doing so they are ruthless.
In a way they have done you a favor giving you the heave-hoe. When we think about it at 4% or less on average sales it takes a bit to make food money.
There are plenty of programs in the sea.
The thing is if we desire we can sign up again, more content, more traffic can be the key.
Best wishes.
Rants are a good way to get rid of that negative energy.

I have never understood their affiliate program either, Pamela!
