Importing Media Library from one site to your WA site

I've spent the best part of 2 hours trying to figure this out and got extremely frustrated (and a bit vocal, sorry guys) - but now I have it working I thought I'd blog about it hopefully to help anyone else who might be going through it.

I've had webhosting for years and I'm pretty au-fait with administering WordPress. I've migrated loads of sites from one host to another, using the WordPress built in Exporter and Importer plugin, usually with no issues, including moving the Media Library across. WordPress these days is pretty good at that and takes care of updating any image links within your content too.

But on WealthyAffiliate it failed to import the images on my posts.

I battled for hours, tried various plugins and none of them worked.

Until I disabled SiteSpeed.

So, if you want to import your WordPress site from another host, make sure you disable SiteSpeed before you do the import, otherwise your image library will fail to be imported and you'll tear your hair out.

Once the import is done you can re-enable SiteSpeed :)
