My train was chugging and now it stopped

So I have my website up and at it with its affiliate links set up, my own domain, and google adsense. I have yet to see any earnings but am patiently waiting till that day comes until then I am going to refuel my train and keep it chugging along till I get there!

But the reason my train has stopped is because I am not sure if I am doing to much for my site content wise, or if I should keep the categories and just pull out the diet and health lifestyle section and make a separate website altogether for weight loss. Any thoughts, or answers on if that would be a good idea? 0.o I know with the niches they are supposed to be as specific as possible but if I am writing content on a few different subjects will that help me rank higher, or would a more specified website niche be a better source for higher ranking?

Thanks in advance!

How does your traffic look? Are you getting a lot of organic traffic? traffic from social sites where you've shared your site? All of these will play a factor in if you get the traffic to click on the affiliate links and adsense campaigns. Are the links getting clicked on and then the person is not making a purchase? If that is the case you might want to adjust your site or change the audience you are promoting to.

Hope this helps.

Some days it looks great while others tend to flounder a bit. I share on reddit, and google + which helps a bit. Just a lot of impressions but no clicks yet, I don't know if I have too much going on or not enough? Does traffic to a site come from a combination of all the keywords on the entire site or just from post to post? Thank you for the reply :)

I managed to click back to one of your previous blogs and find your site. I think you should divide up the content. So if I came to your site looking for health information or products and then was scrolling down and saw a review for a tablet or WA I would be extremely confused. It also tends to clutter your site. Divide and conquer. It will also look better to google because more of your content will be related to your keywords.

So if I have a niche say making money online. I can write about a lot of different things but they will likely share some base keywords that apply to the niche. Those keywords could be something like: how to make money online, making money online, online money making. All the keywords are similar to one another.

When you throw other random products into the mix it tends to get confusing. Think about how a person would see your website so if you were a customer that came to your site how would you feel?

Wish I could offer more advice on the advertisements but I haven't ran any campaigns because I've been focusing on the content of my site.

I really hope I've answered your questions, sorry the reply got so long. You are a really good content writer it is clean and easy to understand, keep up the good work and i'm sure you'll see success.

No thank you that was actually the answer I was looking for! I figured if I was talking about so many things at once google wouldn't know where to rank anything because the content was so widespread vs specified on certain keywords. Thank you again for your answer as it helped to silence some other questions as well! Good luck to you as well, wish you all the best! :)
