Hello everyone,

yesterday I created a facebook page to go along with my website, http://lovemycurlyhair.com. I don't know yet how helpful this facebook page will be, but I figured just like google+, it's a good place to post my blog updates and gain publicity/followers/support. Here's my facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/lovemycurlyhair?ref=bookmarks

Do any of you have experience with facebook pages? How did/does it work out for you?

Your site is informative with good information. It is funny with the cartoons and that is a good touch. We know that people are visual in nature and must see pictures and colors. I like your total presentation but it is long. I would suggest somewhere in the middle maybe a small one line that says something like: Stay with me folks this is going to get funny! I hope all the pictures will be enough to get people to stay there and read to the end. It is a very nice site and I hope you have a lot of success with it. P.S. I have some post also. LOL

Thanks for your input! I'm still kind of a newbie, so I haven't figured out how to shorten my blog roll so that not all of my posts are on the same page. You're right that it's long, and the more posts I publish, the longer it will get!

Hi, I have had great success with Facebook pages and they do rank in Google, which is a plus. The trick is really that you need to be you, represent your brand, be ENGAGING, and number one, do NOT try to oversell things. Just explain who you are, what your site/page is about, and ask lots of questions. A great trick with pages, after you have a few likes (get your friends on board) is to just ask a question and get responses. Something simple like "What is your biggest beef about your hair?" or "Curly hair problems, what is yours?" and people just love to answer those. I typically share my Page post on my personal page, and then on a couple of group pages as well that are relative to what I'm talking about. Engagement will come, just keep the communication open!
