Winter Has Arrived

Last Update: November 26, 2012
We received 35 cm of snow over the weekend. This is the biggest snow fall we've seen at this time of year in many years. Some are complaining about having to shovel. Not me, I'm thrilled. The ski conditions are awesome. It's nice to be able to skip my rock skis and start the season on faster pair of skis.

I've put in just over 50 km so far, all skating. With a few more cm of fresh snow I will take out the classic skis.

Looking for forward to a long fun filled season. It's great to be a northerner.

Nothing like that down here. Just a trace to make things interesting. Glad you enjoy that much. Early snow looks so nice but gets old for me quickly. Since I'll be recovering most of the winter I'll get to look out at it but no playing in it for me.

We are supposed to get some flurries today. Northern IN, we get lake effect. We are hit and miss on snow. But I am looking forward to it, maybe cause I don't drive in it much.

This made me laugh - because the only way I would be enjoying that much snow is a picture on a Christmas card! Glad it's giving you so much pleasure.

Thanks Beverley. I enjoy the warm weather too. There is nothing like being out in the wilderness on a beautiful sunny winter day.

Glad you're enjoying your snow. In Northern Nevada we often get about a 1/2 inch of snow and then it's gone later that day or it's cold enough for snow, but not enough moisture to snow.

I've been to Nevada a few times. Found it real hot in the spring.

Happy to hear you're having fun. In Southern California, we say, snow? what snow?

Southern California is way different than it is up here. We get snow and but no traffic.
