Remember Them

Many around the world are in remembrance of the Veterans that have fought and some died so we may agree to disagree. Remember Them.

This is for them the Lyrics to Taps or also known as Day is done

Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh.
Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar, drawing near
Falls the night.
Thanks and praise for our days
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know
God is nigh.

Original set of lyrics by Horace Lorenzo Trim

Thanks Sir William

Sure enough we should remember our heroes and learn to live alongside each other in-spite of our differences

Hey you are welcome sir, and I don't no when but maybe some day

These words are great - hadn't heard them before, thanks,
Hudson

Your welcome , they are not heard very often.

Thank you sir, military members around the world appreciate you and your thoughts and kind words :)

Keep on Keeping on

Thanks for posting. I learned the lyrics when I was in boot camp back in 71. Later on in funeral details I was assigned to, the song played at every funeral. On one such funeral the instrumental "taps" had a beautiful tenor voice to sing along with it. I think it was the most remarkable thing I ever heard.

Thanks for the comment , You know you don't here the words very often. Its been a long time since I have and it might have been scouts. take care

I hadn't heard this before. We owe so many a very great debt. "We will remember them". Thanks for sharing and reminding.

It is a pretty moving tune, especially when the day is done.

Thanks, Sir William. A marine played taps at my dad's funeral. so moving. Just reading the lyrics now made me miss him. Thanks for writing them out. I only was familiar with the first stanza. Are you a veteran?
Thanks, all you veterans for your service.
Lisa
