Looking for someone with extensive knowledge of SEO to audit my site.

Hey folks,
Recently I've been wondering why my keywords are not ranking well and if my SEO could be improved. I've followed the training here step by step but I'm getting info from other sources that without proper backings you can never succeed at SEO and your keywords will be bound to the bottom of search engines to infinity.
I'd like to ask any of you folks, who consider yourself an expert when it comes to SEO, to lend me a hand and give me some suggestions and directions. I believe my site is of high quality in every aspect so I'm even more bewildered.
