Is my website ever going to make money?

Today while working on my site, I did have a few of my friends having a discussion on my niche and since I was doing quite a bit work on it I really had a bit more knowledge about it than them, so I tried to join in the conversation not knowing the outcome.
When I was explaining a bit of the technical details about the gadget, they soon started saying we really don't know about it since we do have better work to do.
Ouch! That did hurt, that hurts bad when you know all you were trying to do is rather share information and all that goes on in their mind is BS, to be honest let's not get inside what goes on in their heads because I learnt something really important here and that is something we need to realize!
There is always going to be people around you who would not believe in you, make fun of you, think that you would never make money off your website and the best part think that the entire WA community is a scam.
All you need to do is FOCUS!

There would be times when people would say why are you working on your site when you make no money!
I really do not care now because at least I'm not wasting my time like them watching Game of Thrones or some other narrative movie which is no way related to me and is completely hypothetical.
Trust me working on your website you would reap benefits sooner or later, there is nothing to feel sad if you aren't making money yet, you just need to focus on your site and try to perfect it!
You still would be an affiliate marketer even when you are not making any money and you don't need others to tell you that or confirm that for you !
