Esoteric Squirrel made an appearance this morning… I do apologize, as it’s 6 am, and this guy woke me up at 4:30 with an idea. (I also have ingested LOADS of coffee, so it might not make sense).

Visualization

The first and most important step is to visualize what you want and to understand what you want.

You'll find it’s not always the money that you want but rather what that money represents in terms of your lifestyle or your status.

The best way to get an idea of what you want from life in any given area is often just to visualize your future. That means closing your eyes and just calling to mind your ideal future.

Where are you?

Are you happy?

What do you do for a living?

Who are you with?

Do you have an office? Or do you have a Laptop? (Have Laptop, will Travel).

By picturing your future in this abstract way, you’ll be able to start analyzing what it is that you’re trying to accomplish and from there you can begin to look at the more concrete steps you’d need to take to get there. Some other strategies that can help with this are:

· Looking at your role models and seeing what they have in common

· Thinking about the things that excite you, your hobbies, the things you’re a fan of, etc.

· Thinking about the last time you felt truly happy, or truly alive from there, it’s also a good idea to think about the actual reality and to visualize what it would be like to get there and to live that life. Do you still want it?

Getting to the core of what you want like this can also help you to overcome impossible odds. If you want to be an online presence for example, then you might have to come to terms with the fact that you have to put in the work, time, and education that it will take to get there.

But ask yourself why that appeals to you on an emotional level. Maybe it comes down to your love of writing or helping others. Maybe you want to retire from one aspect of your professional life but continue in a different direction with it. (That’s my goal, and every day I visualize ways to achieve that).

Have an AWESOME DAY!!

Really freat post!
It's a very good idea. Visualization allows us to understand ourselves better and to move more clearly toward our goals.

Ingrid

💖

Visualization is key. See it, believe it, achieve it.

So Very true Mickey!

See now, 4.30am does agree with you. Same time tomorrow ?

Btw, big fan of visualisation and totally agree that most times we want the 'vehicle' and overlook the destination.

Oooo destination!! That may just become a post in the future!

Great timing i needed to read this today

I'm glad it was there for you!
You've got this!

Good post, Shauna.

It's important to visualize where you are going, and what you will feel like when you get there. It helps with forward momentum.

I 💖 Forward momentum! Keeps me moving!
Shaunna
Safe trip home!

Thank you Shauna. This is wonderful.

I agree with you totally.

Many times, we actually don't know what we want. But the good thing is, the moment that knowledge comes into play, the direction gets clearer and the journey becomes easier.

Have a good weekend.

Segun

Thank You, Segun!

i agree Shaunna, visualisation is the key to creating the future we want. See it, think it, believe it and live it.

I love how you put it...💖
see it, think it, believe it, and live it!!
Shaunna

I actually am. Everything is as I visualised, so now the goal post is moved for bigger and better dreams that WA will help me achieve. Woo hoo!!!

Hi Shaunna, still waking up early I see. Great post. I do believe everything starts off with visualization, almost like a foundation for growth.

Michael

😁💖 Thank You Michael!!

BOOM!

NAP North Comrade Shaunna,

Great post and advice, given the Friday the 13th backdrop, squirrels not included.

Perhaps that in the Beckett quote delirium is equal to hopium since it is TGIF as well today, yet again another temporary reprieve and escape from the matrix is at hand.

One thing I would add, as your NAP South comrade, is that aside from what we dream to achieve and in furtherance of that, we have to think of what the market/audience wants, which translates into the eternal "cause and effect" scenario, which is not to be confused with "the end justifies the means" mindset.

And so, along that idea of offering products/services/programs that the marketplace/audience seeks and wants [not those that WE ourselves want] way too many choose to reinvent the wheel or select the wrong path to lead generation, customer acquisition and fulfillment and in the end conversions.

And because of those missteps, they just become TL:DR contributors to a massive and seemingly non ending rising pile of blog posts no one will ever read, create other written/audio/video content no one will ever see, all the while being told to stay on that path and carry on with kind words of encouragement.

The designated Uber car that is always being worked on in the garage or constantly souped up with all kinds of snazzy bells and whistles, the seaworthy boat that for one reason or another never leaves its berth or dock fail to achieve their intended purpose. Neither is the eternal student who will never apply all of that knowledge in his/her real life and, in the end, all of it will have been for naught.

Here it is all summed up in this Gandhi brilliant quote which is connected to your Max McKeown quote, a real timeless warning for anyone stuck in syrupy Wonka Adventureland and who cannot see beyond its horizons:

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”

Gandhi

Blessings!

Comrade of the South,
I live in the hopium of Friday, and the matrix has kept me sane thus far, and so I will continue in my Delirium.
Your addition is greatly appreciated, as that is (planned) key to the next post 😁.
NAP North Division,
Shaunna

Oh la la, c'est vrai!

In search for quotes of wisdom from a non virtual source, I went to the kitchen counter and I opened up my fortune cookie earlier and I got some eternal wisdom from the message inside it:

"Rule your mind or it will rule you."
Buddha

Yeah, I know that may be duplicate content in SEO land, but heck at least we don't have to worry about the dude who wrote it sending out "cease and desist" letters for using his quote, anytime soon.

Probably never. Ever.

BOOM!

Blessings!

BOOM!
Between Buddha and Gandhi... Inner Peace is found!

BOOM!

I only recognized the Stephen Larsen word "BOOM!" in your reply above.

As for the rest of it, it can be summarized as falling under the "me no speak Canuck" hopium category.

By the way, how is the local snow accumulation coming along? I am dispatching Jamie Davis on the Coq to restore the traffic.

Blessings!

PS: Is NAP North ready for the annual ice hockey tournament? We may see another "miracle On Ice", a la Lake Placid...BOOM!

Re: Inner Peace= Hopium
Re: Dispatch not yet needed
Re: Hockey sadly, I'm not a big fan more of a CFL gal

BOOM!

Shaunna,

You are missing the point which you have made above in your post, that is we need to "like" what the market likes, not what we like. So when in Canada, do what Hockey Night In Canada and Don Cherry do, OK??? [except from wearing Don Cherry inspired outfits]

So let the annual Permafrost Ice Hockey Tournament commence.

Maybe this verse will fire up the spirit [aside from coffee]:

"Aux armes, citoyens
Formez vos bataillons
Marchons, marchons!
Qu'un sang impur
Abreuve nos sillons!"

Ready now?

Blessings!

SPOILER ALERT: If my collective responses make little sense, or cannot be translated into NAP North's frozen tundra lingo, you are responsible for that. Why? Check the title of your post...

BOOM!

Shaunna, you hit the nail right on the head! Often when you speak of visualization people get spooked, thinking you are on some spiritual voyage.
Everything begins in the mind. You first “see” it then you “make” it.
Always love your posts. So down to earth and straight forward.
Thanks
Joe

Thank You, Joe!!
I'm honored that you enjoy my posts!!
Shaunna

Love 'em. Keep'em coming!
