Affiliate marketing is a scam
It's a scam if you don't know what you are doing. Just like any business model, you have to learn how it works. The people have learned how it works have made lots of money online. These incomes have even surpassed the income that people make working full time jobs. Wouldn't you like to learn how you could make a full-time income part-time?
The key is to learn the foundation of marketing. This does not mean creating ads and posting links everywhere. This means to create or have conversations. Conversation's requires two people or more to listen and one to speak. If both are speaking and no one is listening. That's not a conversation, that's an argument my friend.
To be a successful affiliate marketer is be a good listener. You listen to the needs of your audience and you understand what how they feel. You are now better able to help them. Everything you write or talk about should be aimed at helping your audience. Not to take their money, because you can make a profit. The bigger the problem the bigger your life.
