What Would I Do Without Wealthy Affiliate? A Thought from the Road
Hi All,
What Would I Do Without Wealthy Affiliate?
I don’t just mean in terms of money, websites, or business.
I mean, what would I do—really?
When I joined 10 months ago, I wasn’t looking for a life-changing opportunity. I just wanted something to do—something to break up the routine of trucking, especially in the winter months when my favorite things—fishing, camping, and exploring—aren’t an option.
I figured maybe I’d make a little extra money, pick up a hobby, keep my mind occupied. But looking back now, I know this was exactly where I was meant to be.
It Feels Like This Business Chose Me
You ever have something in life just fall into place in a way that makes you think—this isn’t random?
That’s exactly how this feels.
I’ve always loved exploring—getting out into the wild, finding new places, and just seeing what’s out there. Somehow, that love turned into my niche, my business, my brand. This wasn’t something I planned, but I honestly believe this path chose me.
And now, it’s leading me to one of the most exciting parts of my journey.
Spring is rolling in, and if you know trucking in my neck of the woods, you know things slow down for the next three months—April, May, and June. That means one thing: more time for adventure.
I’ve got three places booked this summer where I’ll be heading out to explore, and for the first time, I won’t just be going for fun—I’ll be going to document, create, and share.
This summer, I’ll be making my first videos—bringing my experiences to life, blending my passion for the outdoors with this business I’ve built.
And the best part? I’ll have my business running while I’m out there.
I’m not stepping away from work to go exploring—I’m bringing my work with me, making it part of the journey.
That’s the kind of freedom I never thought I’d have.
More Than Just a Business—It Built Me Up
Wealthy Affiliate didn’t just teach me how to build a website.
It taught me how to build myself
Confidence – I don’t just move through life anymore—I step forward with purpose.
Knowledge – I’ve learned SEO, content marketing, and affiliate strategies I never imagined I’d understand.
Creation – I’ve built websites, brands, and written books—things that exist because of me. Opportunity – I’m no longer just dreaming of something better—I’m creating it.
And here’s the crazy part—I did it all without gurus, without shortcuts, and without paying thousands for “secrets.” Just real learning, real work, and a platform that actually teaches you how to succeed.
The Road That Led Here
Before Wealthy Affiliate, I felt like I was always waiting.
Waiting for the next trip into the wilderness.
Waiting for the weather to change.
Waiting for life to start outside of work.
When you’re on the road 90% of the time, trucking doesn’t leave much space for the things you love. So when I wasn’t working, I felt stuck—like I was just waiting for the next break to come around.
Wealthy Affiliate changed that.
It gave me a way to build something real—something that could eventually give me the freedom to live life on my own terms. To work from anywhere. To create a future where I don’t have to wait anymore.
Because let’s be honest—if you could earn online while sitting by a campfire, fishing at your favorite lake, or exploring a new place, wouldn’t you?
That’s the bigger picture. It’s not just about money.
It’s about creating a future where I’m not tied to the truck forever.
40+ Hours a Week—And I Wouldn’t Change a Thing
The other day, a guy in the bunkhouse saw me on my laptop (again) and laughed.
“Man, you’re always working on that thing.”
And I had to stop and think—how much time have I really put into this?
When I did the math, I realized… I’ve been putting in 40 to 45 hours a week into my online business. That’s a full-time job—on top of my full-time trucking job.
Every spare moment—whether I’m parked in the bush waiting to load, sitting in the bunkhouse, or stuck in the truck on break—I’m building. I’m learning. I’m moving forward.
And you know what?
I wouldn’t change a damn thing.
Because this isn’t just a side hustle anymore.
This is my future.
What If I Had Never Started?
And that’s the thought that really hit me today.
What if I didn’t have Wealthy Affiliate?
Would I still be trucking? Of course.
Would I still be working long hours? Absolutely.
But would I have something that’s mine—something that I’m building for my future?
- Probably not.
That’s the real power of this journey. It’s not just about making money. It’s about creating something from your mind—about proving to yourself that you can build something real.
And let me tell you—there’s nothing more thrilling than that.
Final Thoughts—The Road Ahead
I don’t know exactly where this road is leading yet.
But I do know this:
I’m all in.
I’ve gone from someone just looking for a hobby to building a brand, writing books, and creating an online business that works.
If you’re sitting there wondering if you should take the leap, let me tell you this:
- There’s no perfect moment.
You just have to start. Learn. Build.
Even if it feels overwhelming, even if you don’t know what you’re doing yet—it’s worth it.
Because one day, you’ll sit back—just like I did today—and realize…
This isn’t just a business.
It’s a life-changer.
And I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
"Some paths are chosen, and some paths choose you.
The trick is knowing when to follow."

Thanks Shawn
You're welcome Shawn. I didn't know anything about creating websites or affiliate marketing either. Wealthy Affiliate is a university.
All the best!
