Hey everyone!

I am curious how many of you are using the Site comments feature here at WA.

It seems to have came to a very slow crawl, lately and I am just wondering if people here are not taking advantage of this feature.

I use it every day and it is a very important part of how I rank on Google.

Do we have a need for a tutorial on how to use this feature properly? I would be glad to create one if needed.

I urge you to take advantage of this and the Site Feedback feature also if you are not already using them as it can really help boost a websites ranking!

As usual I want to hear from you!

Hi Shawn,

SiteComments has been a great platform and it's certainly ready for an update, although usage has remained steady.

SiteComments will be built into SiteContent very soon and it's going to remind folks of the importance of getting social engagement on their content when its first published. We'll be making it easy to offer, and request comments right from the UI within SiteContent.

It should be very easy to hit Publish at SiteContent, and immediately order some comments right there. We've also got brand new designs for the SiteComments and SiteFeedback in the works.

SiteComments is being used as frequently as ever, however improvements need to be made to get the comments coming in faster. The slow down is likely due to MORE comments being requested with each job as people become so comfortable and happy with the platform. Version 2.0 of SiteComments will be a great update :)

Carson

Hi Carson,

Would there be anything in the works for getting social likes from other members?

Thanks for the clear up, Carson. Wow, I'm really excited for what you have planned for SiteComments and how you plan to integrate it into SiteContent. Like Shawn, I was wondering too if SiteComments was having any kind of slow down because it seems like it is taking much longer to receive comments, but if there is such high usage causing a delay as well, then that can be taken as a good thing too :)

Awesome! Thanks Carson for the update on this! Always something good going on around here. :)

I stopped using it primarily because certain people abuse the deny button. Common sense says just edit the comment and move on. Much rather use the thread than find out 5 days later the person decided I didn't give a perfect comment and take away a credit from me...

Eric

It sounds like this update coming will possibly address that. :)

Yes, I did noticed that it took longer than usual to get comments in Site Comments. I do wish that it wasn't giving two comments in return for one but 1 for 1.

I do not mind the two for one myself. always a way to make things better I suppose. :)

I was using SiteComments, but lately, I have been using the comments thread. The comment thread is a double edge sword. You can get comments quickly, but they often lack anything substantial. I have received comments that are one sentence long. Then again, there are no credits required to use the comment thread.

Good point. :)

I used it last week, first doing two reviews and then asking for a post to be reviewed. I still have not had it reviewed at SiteComments. I have noticed that members are using WA blogs, Live Chat, and their profiles to ask for site comments or feedback, and they are accommodated. Is this is a desire to avoid paying it forward or a lack of interest or lack of how to give appropriate comments and feedback?

It could be all of the above. The new update will more than likely iron some of this out.

When I first started out with SiteComments, comments came in thick and fast. But just recently, it does seem to be slowing down.

Last week I requested 8 comments across 3 reviews ASAP, but almost 7 days later, I'm still waiting for the last 2 to arrive lol.

It's either some members aren't pulling their weight to make the system work or there are too many members still using the comment threads.

I think the comment threads need to go and more folks encouraged to use SiteComments :)

Neil

maybe that would help. 7 days is way too long to wait.

I agree that if the comment thread was gone, people would have no other choice but to use SiteComments.

I know we can purchase credits, but I usually offer comments to earn credits. I wish it wasn't 2 for 1. I think you can still require a certain length of the comment, maybe require a question to be asked, and not have to offer 2 to get 1.

I think that is why people use the thread instead, no credits required.

It would give SC a big boost :)

Yeah threads are a lot easier. SC should change to a 1 - 1 ratio. More people will start using the feature a lot more then. :)

I agree with this also.

Yes it would!

I use it often and yes some days it’s takes a while to get comments I thought that perhaps people had too much choice on what to comment on lol Anyway a great tool and I like it as it helps with site rankings :)

Good point!

I use it occasionally which, in hindsight I should use it more. I just get aggravated at some people who fail to return the favor. I mean, it would to be their benefit reading other blogs, getting insight to the different writing skills that other bloggers are using and maybe, just maybe, learn something useful.
I will start using it more. Thank you for The reminder.
Ken

I understand the one-sided part. I incorporated it into my websites daily and it does make a difference.

Jay did a whole Friday night webinar on Site Content a few weeks ago. People can check that out for how to find out best uses for this great WA platform.

Great suggestion. Here is a link to another great training on this topic!

I am with you Shawn. Use it every chance I get. Have noticed, lately that it is kind of spotty, gets real slow. I just put it off as my slow internet connection!
Wayne

There are so many ways to take advantage of this feature. Thanks for using it, that helps us all!
