Lions & Tigers & Bears - Oh My!

Have you ever found yourself running around in circles? Are you trying to accomplish a task without clear direction? Have you ever just stopped because you are overwhelmed?

Well, here at Wealthy Affiliate none of those questions will apply! This is without a doubt the most comprehensive, clearly written,and participant supportive learning project I've ever undertaken. That being said, however, at this point in the training it's gotten tough!

Level 4 is definitely a brain burner for those of us without the benefit of having "grown up" with social media and social engagement. The modules in this level have been a bit like learning to ride a horse using a book! First, you have to find out what a horse is, the benefits of riding, how to get on the horse ... and then, there's the bridle, the saddle, the stirrups ... what are those things? Oh - yeah - I've never seen a horse!!!

Thought I had this one down. Until I had to convince all my followers to also follow me on my new FB page I created for WA. It did lead to some interesting conversations, and yes, in the end, they did follow the new page. However, my FB friends are post naive. I've actually gotten messages asking me what I'm trying to sell. They don't seem to understand that the information is free for the taking and I'm trying to encourage discussion. Hmmmm. Gotta work on this one! By the way - need to figure out how to add affiliate marketing links to FB if that's possible.

Gone are the days of posting pretty pictures and recipes I'll never prepare! Now I have a business focus and have discovered that I need to "create" my own content and photos instead of just clicking a <SAVE> button! Oh - I also discovered that I could actually monetize this effort. Sounds great!

Seriously? The little blue bird is cute, but I am still at a loss as to the real meaning of creating content in a world where EVERYONE seems to have something to say. How do I actually stand out so that I'm heard. I think I'll probably have to force myself to use this tool until I can figure out a way to do it in a way that is meaningful to me.

LINKED IN

Got this one-linked up nicely to over 300 people, although here again, I'm floundering at the meaning of it all. I analyze the posts I see, but I can't make a connection between the posts and meaningful content with the exception of those from large companies (they hired someone to do this I feel quite certain). So, I will continue to review and analyze what I see to determine how I can use this medium effectively.

So those of you who have gotten this far in the training already knnow that's the purpose of this post - to share where I am and what I've discovered thus far. Fortunately, the very first person to follow me back, informed me that Google Plus is going to be phased out and replaced. So, since I'm still stuggling with the above, I will set it up and refocus on improving the above methods of social engagement.

WEALTHY AFFILIATES

WA is the friend that makes me brave. I would never have had a guide so faithful in leading me into the murky waters of social engagement nor into creating the above social content outlets. I am thankful that I have a quickly available guide for reference as I work on building my site and hone my marketing. WA has taken me places I never thought I would go, guided me through confusing paths, and given me a supportive platform for discussion, questions, and answers to puzzling assignments.
