How Do You Deal With negative Comments?
I've been really lucky with the content of the comments that i recieve, organically i mean not from site comments here, but that luck ran out the other day when i recieved what i would consider quite nasty, probably because it's my first one.
I thought for a long time if i should post the comment and in the end i decided to publish it with what i think is a fairly good response.
If you would like to see the comment by 'Chris', who is a competitor by the way, and how i dealt with it you can see it here on my website; https://escapetherat-race.com/affiliate-psycho-review-steer-...
My question to you is how do you deal with these types of comment? was i right to publish and reply to him? Or should i have just trashed it?
Your input will stand me in good stead for any future comments like that.
Sharon

I had a brief look through of the product Chris is promoting and I believe all he is interested in is customers' money irrespective of whether he adopted principled or unprincipled approaches and is something totally different to what Wealthy Affiliate teaches namely honest transparent dealing with customers. I agree with your move to publish your comment especially to let the people know the difference between his underhand method and Wealthy Affiliate transparent programmes and policies
Stay as positive as you can and accept the constructive criticism.
Tried and true

Thanks Elaine
It can be hard though especially when you know what you have written is going to help people.
Hi Sharon, what is life without people like this guy? it would be boring and we all have our opinions good or bad.
I love your reply back!!
Well said, brilliant and 'nicely' put him in his place :D
I usually laugh at negative comments at first, then think of a way to respond. When someone puts a negative comment, they are only expressing their opinion, to me, that's valuable. I add negative comments to my website because according to "the laws of nature" there is an opposition to all things. If it were not so, there would be no real truth in anything. So negative comments have their value. They give me something to consider in my content that I didn't consider before. I would 'sometimes" make adjustments based on negative comments. For instance, I used sh*t in one of my posts, I received one negative comment, but it was only a partial disagreement with 'some' of my opinionated post. So negative comments do have value.
Hope this helps,
Linda
PS. You handled that comment extremely well! :D
Thank you, Sharon. It's true though. There have to be opposing opinions. Lol. And if anyone backs down from a negative comment on their post, it only shows their inability to handle challenges and that's not cool. Especially if someone challenges you on your own website which is your territory or home front. You've gotta hold your ground. Negative nay-sayers are only there to keep you aware that some people just don't want to try and like it when others are following suit. But if you can respond like you did Sharon, you'll beat the odds everytime! :)
Oh my goodness, Sharon, I don't think I would have replied to this guy, but you did a sterling job. Well done.
I really didn't know whether to reply or not, perhaps i won't the next time because I'm sure there will be others.

I have to agree, your response was great. Hopefully, he goes back to your site to read it.
You know what i actually think he might do, I'll keep you updated if he does, who knows he may even decide to take me up on my offer!
I hope so. Great Job!
