What does it mean to be Indexed by Google?
So, it looks like I got indexed by google. I was excited, but at the same time a realized that there is still much work to do. I went to google search and didn't find anything, so am I looking for my site or my article. Not sure what being indexed by google really means for me at this point. I know I have to add more articles, to attract my audience, and that is cool. I see that a few of us have had received the bagged within the last 24 to 48 hours. Now what's next? I think I am not alone when it comes to this question. Yes it is exciting news, but after the excitement wears off, then what? I am not looking for quick results, I know that it can never be that simple. And I am being patient, patient enough to learn the skills needed to make sure that my site receives the traffic that it deserves, that I worked for. It's a great thing to have another notch on my belt here. I must admit, it feels good to see new badges added. I just wish that it would go towards something like my membership lol.

Here is an easy example of what it means to be indexed by Google.
You move to a new town and register your new address with the phone company and now your name and number are in the phone book.
You register your new address with the Post Office. Now all your mail is delivered to your new address.
You register your new address to the Division of Motor Vehicles and get a new drivers license. Now you're information is in their database.
In all three of those examples, your new mailing address was indexed.
That is the same for being Google indexed. Your website is now somewhere within their huge database.
Doing a Google search is not the correct way to find it because based on where it is in the database, you most likely will not find it.
The best way is to type into Google Search the following
site:your domain name
All one continuous word. Here is an example of how I search for mine.
site:legitimatejobfromhome.com
Congrats! This is the first step to getting ranked. Enter your website in quotes in the Google Search window and your site will show up along with your published posts that have been indexed.

excellent question -- it means 'you've been found!' --- that's right, it simply means that Google recognizes your site as existing or is present on the net ... now ranking is something else! ...
encourage to keep adding quality content to engage your audience to obtain good ranking results by search engines ... and of course, there's oodles of training & know-how here on the WA platform for that ...

Shamane, I love your question because I've had the same one - first thought of mine was - yay it's indexed - second thought - what does that mean lol. I think we'll find out along the way. Thanks for posting.
Well it showed by me that one of my posts got indexed by Google earlier on and when I went in I saw that my wealthy affiliate review I posted is also indexed in google, but I also can't find anything when searching.
I'm lost as well on what to do now.
