How I Goofed
Still learning the ropes. I misunderstood what I was doing. Nothing new for me. ;-)
I was supposed to review a post and instead reviewed the website. Got my first rejection of a review as a result and there may be a few more to come. Sorry, guys.
What I learned
I communicated privately with the site owner and offered to do the post review. In doing the review, I did a few things to check out the product.

- Looked for other reviews
- Looked for information on the company that makes the product
- Checked out the company's BBB rating.
The site owner is a good guy, and he is doing something that I think is very important. He has bought the product himself. The product is new and the jury is out on it. The product is exciting and I hope that it is everything it claims to be.
Why is That Important?
Now the site owner can publish additional information after he has used the product. He has positioned himself as an advocate for his customers. I think that is both smart and good for his business.
We have to maintain credibility with our customers and let them know we are there to help. Protecting your brand is critical.
How Do You Approach New Products?
I think products new to the market present a special challenge.
I am wondering how others approach this?
