My first 24 Hours on WA

While googling a name yesterday, I came across the site WorkFromHomeWatchdog.com. I wasn't really looking for an opportunity to make money online, although I'm always open to opportunities when they present themselves. While reading a few articles on that site, alerting readers to be careful about some of the Get Rich Quick online scams, I saw frequent links to WA. As a "traditional" marketer, I realized that this was subtle marketing at its finest and was intrigued. Having seen so many pushy approaches that never resonated with me (typically requiring an upfront investment without any real way to evaluate the program), I couldn't help but finding this honest approach refreshing and visited WA.

I had some time on my hand, so I clicked on the 'Get Started Here' link, as there was no investment, no inflated promises, bonuses, special deals, or an array of complicated membership levels. There simply was a 10-lesson program, available to checkout for free and get started without any obligation. Sure, there were some expected mentions of the premium program that will offer additional value, but again, all very subtle. I liked this unobtrusive approach, so I went through the first few lessons. I actively followed along, completing the tasks and exercises while getting more and more impressed.

After the first four lessons, I realized that it was way past my bedtime and called it a day. Since today was the first day this year that I actually had no plans or work to be done, I woke up and casually continued with the lessons. I chose a niche and set up the website for it: www.MyPastaWorld.com. This still may be to broad of a niche, but I'm going to use it as a site for trial and error for the moment. I also learned quite a bit about keyword search & selection, and have created some relationships with others, as well as written this blog post.

All in all, I'm quite happy with this progress and this is really a testimonial for the effectiveness of WA as a community supported program. The structure of the first 10 lessons is so well designed, it was easy to leap from one small success to another to get to this point. Granted, the site doesn't really have any real content yet, but I believe it's a fairly solid foundation at this point to serve as a starting point. I won't be able to keep up this pace in the near future since I have other obligations, but I plan to invest 2 - 3 hours each day to continue building my online presence in the "Pasta Niche".

So I have just signed up as a premium member. I now look forward to learn more about creating compelling content, driving traffic, selecting affiliate programs, and networking with fellow members to exchange knowledge and ideas. In that sense, please feel free to visit the About page and let me know what kind of improvements you recommend: http://mypastaworld.com/about

Thanks in advance...and also thank to the creators of WA who truly understand that marketing doesn't have to be pushy and greatly benefits from a tightly knit community.

Excellent start but where's the monkey? Kidding... Wise decision going premium. WA is the real deal. I think pasta is a great niche, not too broad at all.

Hello Liz! I changed things totally around today and the monkey is now not relevant anymore. After some deeper thinking, I realized that food and pasta, despite my love, wasn't the best niche to start out with on WA. My focus going forward will build on my existing strengths: presentation & demo skills, with somewhat of a focus on technology and presenting abroad.

On another note, I looked around your website today and really liked it. Having lived on Long Island for a year, I have very fond memories of the Big Apple. I'm convinced your site (with it's clean design and great content) will do very well.

Wow, that is quite a switch! You could always do pasta another time. I visited your site too and left a comment and am following you on Twitter. I think a year on L.I. is plenty. Personally, I couldn't wait to leave. :-) Thank you so very much for your input!
