My Latest Experiment
Given all the hoopla over whether to use free blogging services or your own domain, I decided to give something a try. In the past 10 years or so, I have had a couple of blogs on Blogger.com. One of the blogs was getting a little action but other one was quite active. Now I have been moving old blog posts from the inactive one to the active one and been getting a good bit of traffic. What also helps is that I use thte IFTTT service which allows me to create a Tweet advertising the link to each blog post. So far I have been getting a couple of hundred page views a day when I do this. Reusing old blog posts is not my preferred method but I am seeing some action and have worked on including links to WA and SIteRubix so we will see if I get any tangible results.

Conclusion of the experiment. Writing regularly (I added 3 articles each day) and linking to Twitter posts did generate a good bit of traffic (about 300 page views per day).
