Becoming The Brightest Marketer In Your Niche

Have you ever thought to yourself, "There's light at the end of the tunnel..." I have, many times. Just the other day, I said this very quote, and my friend next to me mumbled, "Ya, let's just hope it's not a train."

That might be a little extreme, but if you are anything like me, at some point during this journey, you've probably asked yourself if this is really for you, and/or felt like just giving up. You're not alone.

But I promise you, if you read this article and it's entirety, I will give you some advice that will change the way you think (or maybe you already think like this) about online marketing.

I have for you both good news and bad.What'll it be first?

Let's start with the bad news first...

By no fault of your own, nobody wants to join your email list or hear about the products you have created... buy the products you've created. I'm sorry, but most people don't...

You're probably asking yourself why and how this isn't your fault... It could be because of their time, it could be that they've been taken advantage of in the past by online marketers, it could be a number of things... (It'll only get better from here, I promise)

You know what they do want?

Desirable Content & Honest-Actionable Advice. And they want to hear it from someone they think/believe is brighter or more intelligent than they themselves are!

Fortunately for all of us, it's not as difficult of a task as one might think. It's actually fairly simple, as you will soon see.

By the end of this article, you will have all the tools to be in the upper 2-3% of marketers in your niche, or any given niche for that matter.

How do you possess all there is to know about your niche? (Or at least come off like you do)

How do you become (or appear to be) more intelligent than most of the people reading your blog?

How to you use that intelligence to be the Brightest Marketer in your niche?

How do you create more desirable, convincing marketing messages, resulting in more sales?

AA Method #1: What Does Your Reader Really Need and Want?


It's not about selling the next big gidget or gadget... It's about helping our target audience solve a problem that they are more than likely experiencing at the time. Keyword being help. Yes we will be selling or should I say promoting a product that they are interested in, but let's peel back a layer or two before we do that...

Before you even think about pushing a promotional activity on them, or even before you select your product to promote, you MUST know what it is your audience actually needs.

What do all the great marketing bloggers like Pat Flynn, John Chow, Matthew Woodward, Luke Kling (Luke Peer Fly), and Shawn Collins all have in common? They know their customers better than their customers probably know themselves. And if you want people to take action? It is imperative that you do the same.

Honestly, lets dissect this scenario and take a closer look...

Why should someone you don't even know, a complete stranger more than likely, just hand over their hard-earned money?

I'll tell ya why...

Because you get them. You know what they are going through, you have a sense of all those emotions they are feeling, and you genuinely care about making a change for the better in their lives.

This will not be an easy feat, but if you dig deep, to try, REALLY try to understand what makes them tick. You'll have far more success in converting them over from a reader to a buyer.

You must understand your audience and their aspirations, fears, hopes, wants, and needs... And I'm going to tell you a few ways on how to do just that...

What Questions To Ask Your Target Audience To Discover Their Needs


First you need to stop presuming, or speculating I should say, because that is exactly what failing marketers do.

You need not to be biased, and put you're own feelings/thoughts aside. You must dig deeper and ask questions that will uncover things about your audience you've never known before.

Below are some examples of the different questions you can ask to uncover the hidden needs of your target audience.




If you do not remove you're own feelings or beliefs, you more than likely will have a hard time answering these questions.

But with the right tools and platforms (that I will show you) you will easily find the answers needed to study your prospects.

You will be able to identify what points you need to target in you're marketing message, which problems to solve with your product, and exactly how to convince people that they should buy from you.


AnswerThePublic - Finding The Most Common Questions Asked


AnswerThePublic is a ridiculously useful tool that literally gives you the list of any and all questions that you're potential prospects are asking about any given topic in search engines.

This will essentially tell you exactly what it is that's bothering your target audience the most!

Visit AnswerThePublic and search for any keyword, it's very easy to use!

The tool will give you hundreds of questions that are taken from search queries related to your topic, questions that a ton of people are asking.

Questions, Answers, Questions, pretty simple right? :-) It looks confusing, but I promise you it isn't... These questions are in fact answers to the questions you identified in the previous point.

It's Imperative To Listen To Your Audience - Visit Q&A Forums/Q&A Sites


By visiting these forums and sites, you can truly understand what it is your audience wants, and find more answers to your questions.

On these sites your audience will share their problems, and beg for solutions to them.

In my opinion, there isn't a better Q&A site than Quora, below is a screenshot...

Quora has thousands of pretty much and every topic you can think of.

It is pretty straight forward to use, just search for your topic and find the top threads to get a better understanding from your target audience's perspective.

Another HUGE social network+forum you can find great information is Reddit. Again, pretty straight forward, but I've included a screenshot for you're viewing pleasure... :-)

Reddit might be one of my favorites. I will warn you though, it is VERY easy to fall into a rabbit hole when on this site. It's harmless, but easy to get distracted... :-)

This site is a golden goose when it comes to marketing. For example, say your niche is a particular hobby, and you want to know what people love it. Go onto Reddit, and perform a simple search.

Hundreds of threads will come up, discussing all the different aspects of that selected hobby, and what people think about it.

Finally, I like to use Google Search to find some hidden forums on your topic. Below you will see how I used simple query on losing weight...

You can easily find any niche specific forums by using the following search queries on Google.

[Niche Keyword] + Forum

[Niche Keyword] + vbulletin

[Niche Keyword] + discussion

Spend just a few hours exploring these discussion threads, you will be able to find some of your target audience's "hurting points" allowing you to gain further insight of that given niche.


Emotional Searches - Discover What It Is Your Audience Is Craving


For this particular search, there isn't better than the man/woman, the myth, the legend: Google Search.

You are able to use it to find out how your target audience feels about a particular topic. How you go about it, is completely up to you, but I like to go about it this way: (I've chosen the topic of Acne again)

For this example, I used one similar to the Alphabet Soup technique that I'm sure you're aware of. The simple search "Acne has" results in several topics. From here I chose the 3rd option "
Acne has ruined my life." One of the first results that was NOT an add, was the following.

I chose this site, as it looked like it was someone describing why they hate acne so much, how it has affected their lives, and how they wish they could change their condition.

These are people who would gladly pay anyone who can help them. I would know, I was one of them...

You can find such people in almost every niche by simply using the same search technique - "[Niche] has ruined my life..." Here are some other examples:

"I hate [niche] because..."

"I love [niche] because..."

"I wish [niche]..."

"[Niche] makes me feel..."

I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the point...

Below is that Reddit forum post about Acne ruining his life. I will warn you, there are some exploitative's in the following images that some may consider pretty vulgar.

But as vulgar as it may be, it is filled with emotion and pain... Again, I feel for this guy because I went through the same thing, only for a couple years. But for those of you who haven't't, it definitely gives you a better understanding...

This post truly shows you the full range of emotions this particular acne patient has gone through. The pain, the sadness, the desperation, the regret in his words...

If you were to be promoting anti-acne products, this definitely gives you a better understanding how your audience feels, right?


Keywords Everywhere - Understanding Your Audience


If you use Chrome as your browser, there is a very useful extension called Keywords Everywhere.


When searching for something on Google, this extension literally tells you the top related keywords and other keywords people are searching for.

It takes it a step further by showing you the monthly search volume and competition of those keywords. By doing this, it shows you other closely related queries that can peel back another lair about your prospects.

By using these Affluent Affiliate methods, it will most definitely help you find the answers to any and almost all questions we identified earlier in the post, giving you a better understanding of you're ideal customer's state of mind.

Now that you know the problems of your audience in detail, you most certainly need to offer them honest-actionable advice that they can use to better their current situation and overall well-being...
