I am wanting to gather views of us brats, parents, soldiers/veterans of any branch of the service.

I would love to have you tell me your story how you view your life being in the military/family member.

I have some questions below if you want to participate. Thanks in advance.

If you were raised in the military, how would you describe your life?

Positives from being raised in the Military?

If any Negatives?

Anything you want me to know about your experiences as a family member.

Did you go into the military due to your parents/other relatives being in the military?

Any deployments in your past (as a veterans/soldier/family member?)

Am very excited to read these writings, so let's go.

Sharon, I am a mother of an Army Veteran my son who just got out Friday for he wanted to pursue further his college education and his own business. As a mother who had experience my son's deployment was very worrisome due to the place of his deployment. What kept me going was prayers for I know prayers are powerful for those who believe. In addition, a positive mindset for that was his career path. Oh! I also wrote a song entitled "Our Soldiers/Patriotism" Liz Camacho, Guam !
I hope you this reply to your questions as being a family member of an Army mother helps your quest.

Cheerfully,
Elizabeth-Liz

Yes, most definitely it helps, just want to gather voices of all who are associated with the military. I would love to see the words or hear the song you wrote. Is there any way I can do such?
I so agree about the prayers and positive mindset. And HIS career path.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing and Thanks to your veteran for his service.

Yes, you could hear the full video song "Our Soldiers/Patriotism" on Youtube type in on the search: Liz Camacho, Guam

Hi Sharon! I am the wife of a Vietnam vet who suffers from PTSD and dementia. We married after he was out of service, so I can't comment of military life, only on what I see of the effects after. I am most passionate about the lack of care for our veterans after they have given so much for our country. I have seen an improvement in recent years, but still so much is lacking. I often wonder what kind of care do our politicians receive?

I agree with you. I worked for 6 years at the VA Medical Center in Memphis. I found out how little monies was being paid by Congress to the VAMC. Now they are able to bill insurance. But the need and the funding just don't match. I would like to see the Politicians help pay for their care. After all the veterans protected them also.
Thanks for sharing and Thanks to your veteran for his service.

Thanks for sharing and Thanks to your veterans for their service.

Thanks for sharing, Sharon.

You are so very welcome

I spent 20 years in the Navy. Most of my career was overseas or on board ship. Stationed in Japan and Saudi Arabia. Participated in the Gulf War (1st one). Did some cool stuff. Probably the most gratifying one was providing a small bit of logistics support for Operation Homecoming. This was the release of 500+ POWs from North Vietnam in 1973.

Thanks, GlenPalo. Thanks for your Service, Sir. Where in Japan were you stationed and what years. My family was at Tachikawa from 1956-1960. I was a Federal Civil Service employee for the Navy 17 years (Navy Memphis, Millington, TN.) So proud you were in the Operation Homecoming. What a memory for you.

Sharon

I was in Yokosuka from 1976 to 1980.

I only know of one proud vet here, Tony Hamilton:))

slowly finding more who are sharing. Cool I think.

Success:)

Great share thanks,

You are very Welcome, MPollock.

Hi Sharon, I have not got the time at the moment to answer the question you have raised. Can you remind me in say three weeks as I will be in Spain from the 10th to the 22nd of this month. Irv.

I will attempt to put this in my calendar to request such from you. But I can't take information anytime, no rush.

Please be careful on your trip to Spain.

Sharon

Ivine, This is the Reminder you asked me to give you. I would love to hear your story of the military.

Sharon

Hi Sharon, I served in the Irish Army, Air Corps for 24 years and retired on pension in December 1999 at the age of 45. I was a Radar Engineer, holding the rank of Flight Sergeant. During my service I studied at university for seven years, part time, and obtained two degrees.
I also served overseas in Lebanon during the war in 1978 and have been awarded three military medals.

Thank you for your service, Ivine. As a family member, I am glad we have soldiers who take care of our freedom. Air Corp. Ah. I don't know much about the Irish Army. But I do know my descendants are from Ireland. This is cool to meet military members from overseas.

It is a pleasure.

Not raised in the military but spent a good piece of my life in Naval careers both military and civilian.

Thank you, sir, for your Service. Were you ever stationed at Navy Memphis, Millington, TN I worked there for 17 years? Where did you work in civilian life for the Navy?

I returned from Civil Service in 2014. Had enough and came out here to help treat those who wanted help, versus what Army would allow to be treated.

Have not looked back with regret. I still see so many individuals in the Military or families of.

Philadelphia naval Shipyard-now defunct, Norfolk Naval shipyard and 3 sea cruises. Bootcamp in San Diego As a Navy civilian visited CNET, NETSAFA there in Millington Great Lakes NTC and later Nagasaki, Sasebo, Tokyo Japan. Visited Pearl Harbor as well. Dad was in Coast Guard, and my youngest son was in the Marines.
