I was so eager to get started that I chose a domain name that I think is pretty terrible and want to change it. Can it be as simple as changing the URL in Wordpress settings? I'

VERY helpful! Thanks a ton!

Agree with Tim down below. Don't change it. It'll break your site. If you are unhappy with a domain you chose, you have 2 choices.

1. Pick a new domain name (purchase if required) and start your site over

2. Pick a new domain name, back up content from old site and move to new domain https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/backing-up-your-wordpress-site-with-wp-clone

3. Redirect old domain to new one. (easiest option) https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-transfer-a-siterubix-website-to-your-own-domain (even if your domain isn't siterubix, you can still move it) Instructions start about 12 minutes into the video

Oh that is brilliant. Option 3 there is exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks a mil Nathaniell

Whatever you do DON'T change the URLs in the Wordpress settings. This breaks your website and you get the White Screen of Death- I learnt it the hard way lol I can't remember how I changed my domain name now.. but just don't change the URLs.

Hi Scotty,

If your old site was setup with wordpress you can export this through the dashboard and then import into your new site once you have wordpress installed. If you can setup the same theme it will be easy to bring over content this way.

Ok great. That helps a lot. Thanks very much

Is it a siterubix.com site or on your own domain? If it's siterubix, you can simply delete it and start over. If it's on your own domain, it will be more difficult. I can't help you with that much, but I've seen threads here that say you shouldn't do it.

It's my own domain. At least I'm not too far in

Hold on for a wise head. There are many here with that experience. Meanwhile, search in the Need Help box at the top to see if there's training. Good Luck!
