Hey everyone,

I get offers for programs and "opportunities" on a fairly regular basis (a little too regular for my liking, lol). I'm not one to jump around from program to program like I see a lot of marketers doing; to me it's enough to keep up with what I'm already doing and try to get it right. As far as opportunities go, I'd like to eventually have 3 or 4 solid affiliate programs in place, for two reasons:

1) Enough variety to appeal to the greatest audience, and to make room for different types of people with different goals, and

2) To keep my own options open.

By the way, I don't need to tell anyone here, but I see WA as a tremendous value in every sense of the word. Comprehensive education for anyone wanting to start an online business AND a simple but generous affiliate program that doesn't rely on constant upsells or shenanigans, that has readily apparent value....truly something to be proud to be a part of and a genuine pleasure to share with others. That's really all you need, folks!

Now, on to the topic at hand. I just spent the last two hours or so combing through a new company still in pre-launch, that was offered to me by a friend of a friend. He was gushing about the usual stuff, mostly about how much $$$ you can make just by being a paid member. After looking it over, I had a pretty good idea of what was going on, but I wasn't 100% sure; I came within a hair's breadth of signing up as an experiment just to see if I was right. I ended up passing on it, and here's why:

1) Much of their selling point came down to a 5-way earning system, but what wasn't readily apparent was the fact that one of them doesn't even count until you have thousands in your downline (which I daresay will never happen anyway, at least for 95% of members, and I'm being generous here). That leaves 4. Of these, 3 of them are based solely on your promotion efforts and personal referrals, so if you want to get paid, you WILL be marketing and promoting. Only one income stream is passive, and it's so tiny, well.....you get the idea.

OK, so no real passive income here. What's the product? Well, information, of course! What kind of information? The kind you can find anywhere on the Internet for free, or if you're really interested enough you can buy a book on Amazon. So how much will this amazing information cost me? Only $40 a month (plus a one time processing fee of...you guessed it....$40). So this is the "product" you're selling....a $40 monthly subscription for nothing you can't get elsewhere for free, and the chance to build an income based on monthly commissions where the attrition rate will in all likelihood be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100%. But that's not all....you can upgrade to a 6-month ($269, I think, plus the $40) or a year ($469 or thereabouts, PLUS the $40) and with these you get an automatic upgrade to your ranking, which increases your commissions considerably; essentially you're buying into a position of elevated earnings (when I read the requirements for attaining these normally, it didn't look promising). There were a few other things I could mention, but you get the point.

This is not a "scam alert" I'm giving here; it's a lesson in what to look for in any opportunity before you pull out your wallet. Trust me, it all sounded good on paper, and they had a very slick VSL to go with it, but the question you should ALWAYS ask yourself is this:

What are they really selling here, or rather, what will I be selling here....?

If you see REAL value for a fair price that you would be willing to pay yourself, and if it makes economic sense, then that's a product or service worth promoting. If it's anything other than that, it's just smoke and mirrors.

And lastly, it had better not just be about how much money you can make and how quickly, but rather about seeing someone with some integrity and a good conscience looking back at you in the mirror....

Take care,

Scott

Hi Scott

Thanks for the heads up, it is not always that one knows what to look for in a business opportunity, especially online, I have been scammed so many times in the past until I came across........ you guessed it WA.

All the best Scott

Gary

Hey Gary,
No problem. I appreciate the response. I was in the midst of answering you in a longer fashion here, when I realized that it was WAY too long, so I decided to turn it into another post. Just to let you know, I been swayed many times over the years with the lure of easy money; it's human nature, but I think I've finally come around to the idea that I'd rather earn it the right way (what we're doing here, by the way) than sit back and hope it falls into my lap, which is what so many "programs" promise, but never deliver. Thanks for the inspiration!

Scott

Thanks for the response Scott,

Long or short I love reading anyway, I agree with you on the point of not going the easy way, it never seems to work.

All the best

Gary

Thank you for the heads up. I get these great "offers" on occasion that turn out not to be so great.
