The Road Map

About two weeks ago I started mapping out my future. I was feeling aimless and listless, a man without a vision. Of course, this was not exactly true. I had a vision...but it was more or less just a swirly-whirly concept within my gray matter. It effectively had no substance because I would think of something, fail to write it down, and then an hour later I would ask, "Shoot, what was that idea I just had?" But it would be gone, lost in the ether somewhere. Maybe it would come back, as some ideas do, like a lost son returning home to an eagerly waiting father. But, more often than not, it would be lost and gone forever.

So instead of insanely doing the same thing and expecting a different result, I finally sat down to put thought to paper. And so I've created a "road map" for my future, projecting out what I want to accomplish for the next 3 months, 6 months, one year, 3 years...all the way out to 20 years from now. Some of my goals are intensely personal, and to see them staring back at me from my notebook scare me a little. But I believe our dreams and goals should be big. If they don't scare you (even if only a little), you are not dreaming big enough. While I'm not ready to share all of them openly, I'll give you a taste of at least a few of them...

3 months (January-March 2022):

• Have 2 streams of income going

6 months (January-June 2022):

• Have 3 streams of income running
• Get back into acting—it's been several years since I've been on stage or film, and I miss it quite frankly

1 year (by the end of December 2022)

• 7 streams of income
• Buy my first property
• Start the first arm of a multi-pronged brand
• Start my own theatre company

That's just the first year, and even that is probably not complete. But this is, of course, a springboard into action. So here I am, on the first day of a brand new year, poised on the edge of that springboard. My "muscles" are tensed and ready for action. Here I go, into my unknown—I'm diving in!
