I landed the post in a dropdown menu but it also is on my welcome page...how do I delete it off that page and not loose it on the menu dropdown?

Hello
Hmmm...ok I`m not 100% clear on your question or what you did.

It sounds like you created a post but decided you wanted to make it a page instead. Now you have the same content as a post and page?

When you create a page most "Themes" default newly created pages to be added to your main menu.

Many Wordpress themes also default the "Welcome" to be what is called a "Blog roll". So when you create a new blog/post that new blog/post will appear in some form on your "Welcome" page. As you create more blogs the news blog will be featured at the top of your "Welcome" page.

We would need some more information on what situation you fall under to assist you. Or if you can provide us with your website URL we may be able to see what you mean by checking out your site.
Cheers
Paul

Hey Paul, I was trying to link a work from my intro paragraph to a post like the lesson 2/7 in boot camp , but it landed on my home page as well and I don't want that. I got it off now. thanks for your great help. have a great day, Philip

By landed, do you mean you put the post under your menu page which resulted in a dropdown?

I’m guessing you’re using a blogroll on your homepage. To make the post disappear on your homepage, go to Settings – Reading - Front page displays. Select a static page (select below) then choose what page you want to show to visitors once they land on your website and click Save Changes.

Hi, Thanks for the info. I tried that and understand it. Now what if I just want my "welcome statement" to show and have the posts got to a "posts" menu option? have a great day!

You will have to categorize your post first. Let’s say you create a category called post/articles/blog. What you want to do next is assign all your posts including your new/future post to that category. Then, put that category in your menu. So, when people click on that menu it will show all of your posts in one place.

Here’s the tutorial for that in case you need something visual. Hope this helps =)
