I would like to share an experience I had two days ago. This might help you on your journey into Social Media as well.

I am going through the training to build a Niche site. While building your site you have to engage in Social Media using Twitter. I have had a twitter account for a few years now and I never really engaged until I came here to Wealthy Affiliate. I honestly didn't know how exactly to use my Twitter and was not familiar with the #hashtag or trending maps experience. So as I am doing the training, we have to use the #Trending Map. I went on to the trending map the other day and it was quite early in the morning, when, I was trying to find something to #hashtag it appeared that the only things that were trending at the time seemed to be all about the negative things going on in our Government.

I don't know about any of you but I feel it is really important to be positive, when people come to my site, I would rather that they have this kind of experience rather than a negative one. So as I was searching for the positive trending topic there really wasn't any. Even when I went to the trending topics Twitter had recommended for me those seemed to be negative comments about our President of the USA and that to me just wasn't what I wanted to engage in.

#Goats

Another topic that was trending was #goats apparently, there were goats running loose in Boise, Idaho. A whole herd, could you imagine waking up and finding your yard was destroyed by goats? Or driving to work and having to be late because of them. That was not going to be my trending hashtag experience.

I found one that had to do with gun control and that wasn't what I wanted to discuss, since I don't own a gun. So I thought, I would go to another part of the map and see what was being said. Well that was all in another language and I couldn't read most of those so that wasn't going to work. I decided to wait for awhile, and see if something else would come up.

I waited the whole day to find something positive to #hashtag about, finally I found something at the end of the day. Only two positive trending #hashtags to engage in, they were #GO Ducks and #Go Beavers. These are the college football teams that are from my home state. I do not follow them in any way however since it was our assignment to #hashtag on a trending topic well I chose #GO DUCKS.

I feel there are enough negative things going on all over the world that I do not have to choose to be a part of. I would rather be spreading good news for people to see rather than the negative that everyone else chooses to put out there, especially on Social Media.

Choices

When people hear my name, I don't want them to remember that one #hashtag or comment that is negative. We have the choice to choose what we want people to know about us, if other people want to engage in the negative stuff, that is their choice. I just choose not to.

I am a Christian Woman and I am supposed to spread GOOD NEWS not the Negative. First I represent GOD and My family, I represent my Business and anyone associated with it. Including Wealthy Affiliate and any other Affiliate programs I am involved in. And I represent Every one of YOU. So I chose to do the right thing and #hashtag something POSITIVE.
