So, as I'm still trying to get my main site together, I was telling my manager at work about how serious I am about it and about how I'm getting serious about my YouTube channel.
Now before I tell you what her response was, I'd like to give you a little background about my job. I am a guest services clerk for a 60 room hotel in Alabama. We're kind of a close knit group with the exception of a couple of other workers, who just don't care about what happens at the hotel. I've pretty much been working here for about a year if you don't count January to the beginning of April, as I was living in North Carolina with my fiancé. My manager called one day, in tears, and asked if I'd come back. Mind you, I LOVE my fiancé. He's my cuddly panda bear and he is my future.... But I had gotten very home sick. Something I never thought in a million years would ever happen because I'd always thought of Alabama as this ridiculous box that I desperately wanted to get out of.
And yet here I am. Back in Alabama. Face to face with my manager. Enthusiastically telling her about my soon-to-be-ready-to-go-money-making website. Most managers would get mad, but not mine. Her eyes lit up and her hands waved in excitement as she said, "SAMMIE! You are NOT going to believe what I just saw a webinar on just YESTERDAY!!!!". It was then that she asked if I could make a hotel blog.

It's funny, because whenever I was thinking of my niche, a hotel blog had never even occurred to me. NEVER. We spent all night at work (Literally. I worked a 7pm to 7am shift that day.) talking about ideas for this blog and I DEFINITELY was very interested. The concept that she had for this blog sounded absolutely amazing, so of course, I agreed to give it ago.
So, I now am working on a second site. I do have a question, though. Is it too soon to .com it? I feel like .com-ing something is like "putting a ring on it", if that makes any sense. I thought about having it as a free page and then if it did well THEN going ahead and.. well.. putting a ring on it. LOL.
Have a good Friday!
Samantha
