Natural or Organic

Hi Everyone

I was at my favorite health food store named the Health Nut and was cruising the store slowly simply because it was not packed with quick shoppers. Two customers passed me and as they did I heard one ask "what is the difference between organic and natural" and the other replied "organic is more expensive". I thought to myself that is not a qualified answer. Once my items were paid for, got in my car, got home and headed for my trusty computer and Googled " what is difference between natural and organic". Here is what the definition provided along with alternative answers:

What's the difference between organic and natural? ... Unfortunately, natural does not meanorganic and comes with no guarantees. "Natural foods" are often assumed to be foods that are minimally processed and do not contain any hormones, antibiotics or artificial flavors.

So, are natural skin care products the answer to our skin problems? Different people have different answers to this question. I have found that a good skin care product is not based on whether it is natural or organic. Therefore, use natural skin care products but be open about organic since you may need them when naturals are not in stock. Prior to using any products, have a skin care routine that you seriously follow. My routine along with many others is fairly simple but effective and consist of 4 steps:

  • Cleansing is first and foremost in your routine. Cleansing removes grease and oils from your skin, removes dust and pollutants which prevents damage to your skin. Cleanse twice daily with a cotton wool or soft tissue.
  • Toning removes oils, debris and dirt left after cleansing in addition to hydrating and calming your skin.
  • Exfoliation, depending on your skin type, is necessary once a week. Exfoliation removes dead cells that block the pores therefore helps the skin in it's natural process. You will need to take care in your exfoliation process since harsh or heavy exfoliation can harm your skin.
  • Moisturising is the most important step in your skin care routine. Moisturising prevents your skin from drying which causes the top layer to break, leading to dead cells. Apply to moist or damp skin and use light upward strokes.

Last but not least, pay attention to your skin type, the environment and how your skins appearance changes with a skincare routine.

I appreciate your visit and look forward to your feedback
