You can cancel and your membership and your work will be kept for you for 30 days then just re-apply with your new credit card details.
If you leave it longer than 30 days you will lose everything.

Regarding the new user registrations you’ve received, you might want to refer to the thread below. Wordpress tells me I new users yeah!, but where are they?
