To hire or not?

This is more of a question to folks than a blog article. But on my last e-commerce site I had actually hired a person to write my "About Us" page and I must say he did an excellent job. But my question is this. How do folks feel about hiring outside content writers? I have no problem actually researching the topics. My issue is that my writing style seems to lack a little something. So is hiring content writers a good way to go?
