Family, I'm sory

I'm still pretty fresh to this family, but I know I belong here. I have been very inactive lately, and I have the numbers to prove it, lol.

Me, Myself, and You

I haven't... wait... first off, beware: I use "I" a lot. If you want to understand better, think of you when you read "I". ;) I've decided to write in the voice that goes in my head, I'm guessing that's "my voice". I usually try to match what others around me are doing. I've often thought of myself as a chameleon, because I try to blend in when I'm around other people. I feel like I want to be me, but I know I'm quite different and I don't want others to be disrupted by me being me. Does that make sense?

I need to break from that. I'm going to be 37 on Saturday. If I spend my life being like all the other people, my life will not be my own. Like the Dido song: If my life is for rent, and I don't learn to buy, well, I deserve nothing more than I get, because nothing I have is truly mine.

it's 2018!...

I haven't made any resolutions for this new year because I usually fail and I've decided this is the YEAR OF EXECUTION. I will be executing all of the things I want to do. The most relevant in this arena is to 1) build my business via online affiliate marketing blog. Other things I'm executing this year are:

  • 2) Starting my almost-2-year-old in home-preschool.
  • 3) getting my house:office:craft lab:life organized
  • 4) moving out of this mold- and cockroach- infested house (even though my neighbors across the street have the best Christmas light show in the state!)
  • That's enough. 4 main goals is more than enough!!

I'm sorry that I haven't been the best that I can be. I declare today to do my absolute best at all things at all times for the rest of my living days, despite all set-backs, hang-ups, pain, discomfort, and depression. Those things are said to be reminders that we are living. Perhaps, the more we feel those things, the more we are being spiritually pushed to do other, better things that remind us we are alive. OH< EPIPHANY!!!!!!

I've been thinking a lot spiritually. I've been praying for years for assistance to make money. I've always vowed that I will give back to the Earth. The Earth is my super-duper major number one priority in this life. Without Earth, we can have no other priorities!

Growing up, I was always in scouts. Our troop was very focused on limiting our negative impact on the planet and increasing our positive impact. (We planted a lot of trees.) I was very active in college with the Sierra Club. But For the last 12 years, I've only acted personally, not globally or locally. I mean, I just did the standard Earthcare activities like 1) 3 Rs - reuse, reduce, recycle; 2) walk or bike every where I can. I even moved to be closer to work so I could walk, for three different jobs. 3) waste less resources: water, electric, gas (never letting extra water run. turning on only lights that I need, wearing a sweater before turning up the heat). Basically, I could show you everything I do, and how the environment, and my desire to protect it, dictates it.

Religious

Tithing has come up a lot lately. I have been a part of churches that I love and some that make me understand why people hate christianity. I love Jesus Christ and I love all the things he did and the kind, loving person that he was and spirit that he is. I strive to live with that unconditional care and love in my heart. I believe that is true Christianity. I believe that is very lost in USA. So, I haven't found a local group of Christians that I feel that tithing to will make the world a better place.

to Tithe or to Not Tithe -

For me, I want to give my money straight to God. However, he doesn't accept our arbitrary form of payment: money. So, in his honor, I would give the money to Earth, but Earth also can not use or do anything with money (except blow it around in the wind, not the most efficient use of money). SO! This is getting tricky, how do I give the top 10% of my income to the Lord to help Earth....SIERRA CLUB, they are back in my life. I believe in this organization. I believe in their impact and their responsible use of funds. CharityNavigator.org is a great place to verify that your favorite charity is distributing collections responsibly.

St Jude's Children's Research Hospital is my second top charity. This charity is taking on the worst epidemic in USA, childhood cancer. They care for the whole family. Their doctors don't make high wages because they are doing it for what they feel is right in their hearts.

As a younger person, world hunger was a larger part my global concerns. I have yet to find an organization that I stand behind completely. I've been looking into The Hunger Project and Heifer International. Do you know of any great charities? Would you consider giving to charities a type of Tithing?

In the beginning....

But we have to start where we are. I need to start making money so I can give some. I need to improve the organization of my home and mind so that I can be the best stewardess of this land that I can be. I can be the best wife and mom that I can. I can be the best and wealthiest affiliate that I can.
