A Simple Browser Change That Improved My AI Workflow

This is just a short blog post about a simple browser change that improved my AI workflow.

When I first had my Windows computer, back in 2001, I used the default browser for several years which was Internet Explorer. Gradually, Internet Explorer appeared to become unusable, so I changed to Google Chrome, which seemed a thousand times better and I think it probably was at the time.

However, over the past year or so, I have found that Google Chrome is getting slower and not so reliable, although it's still my default browser. I don't know huge amounts about this subject, but I'm told that Google Chrome will often run scripts and do different things which will slow things down. Often I will go to my task manager and shut Google Chrome down and then reopen it and it will work perfectly again, but it's not ideal. This is partly due to the fact that they use Dragon NaturallySpeaking and sometimes Google Chrome scripts will slow Dragon NaturallySpeaking down, which is why I shut Chrome down and reload it.

Over the last few months, I have been having issues with ChatGPT in Google Chrome, sometimes loading really slowly, it felt like it was clogged up. However, using ChatGPT in Microsoft Edge, appears to be a thousand times better and much more stable and far quicker.

In Google Chrome's defence, I currently have 63 tabs open, across three monitors, which could affect things, I'm still finding Microsoft Edge far more efficient though.

Just for your interest, I'm still using Windows 10, which may possibly make a difference.

If you're finding ChatGPT a bit slow, it may be worth looking at other browsers. I know there are stand-alone apps, but am not a great fan of apps, so I'm going to try and stick to using webpages. Also, depending on what I'm doing, I may have ChatGPT open on a couple of monitors, just for convenience and efficiency. I do have the paid version of ChatGPT.

Just a few questions.

Do you use ChatGPT in a browser or app, or maybe on your mobile phone?

Do you have a preferred browser?
