Ipad v pc

Now if you thought you were going to get a list of advantages and disadvantages think again. And you know why not ? Because I know absolutely nothing about Ipads !

But I am desperate to know. See so many folk come into the coffee shop. My computer is sitting on my desk in the study at home because I can't be bothered to lug it around. And it's so old that the battery life is something like 30 minutes if I'm lucky. Other folk walk in and whip out their Ipads and away they go without a care in the world. So I sit there with my coffee feeling frustrated because they can sit there and work on whatever they want to be working on and I can't be doing some WA stuff.

I know, or I think I know, that an advantage of a PC is that you can print from it and I'm not sure whether this can be done from an Ipad. And then I think that hey if I got an Ipad , I could still print from the old PC ! So not important in the greater scheme of things.

Is the iPad easy to operate ? Would it be a huge plus to have one? Do you all have these things ? How long is the battery life? Can they do what PC's can do ? Are they expensive? Which make would you buy ?

I have an iPhone but the screen is too small to work from. Get frustrated having to zoom it all the time.

Would love to hear your thoughts - ideas, opinions and experiences. It would give me some direction. And I'm actually pondering whether or not to get one as a tool to help me grow here on WA. That's the big reason.

Thanks everyone.

Roy

Hey Roy! Have you looked at the 2-in-1's? It's basically a tablet with a keyboard. You can also get a keyboard for the iPad.

Hi SuzaMarie, thanks for the guidance. Reckon I'll go down to Currys and see what they have on offer re your suggestion.

Many thanks,
Roy

I use my iPad when I need to go out. You can do a lot on it and I have a keypad on mine that allows me to type with ease.

However it is still better to work on my PC as it is just easier to do things like copy files, print, etc. Currently looking to upgrade my PC to an iMac though, as I love using Apple products.

Hi Roy,

As an old ipad user I can say ipad is a great tool but using it for your business is not a good idea. I use macbook. It's fantastic. Of course, you can do a lot of things with ipad but I don't think it can replace your macbook or any other pc. For exmaple, some files can't be installed through ipad because they don't recognize the format you may need.
