Excellent! Thanks so much everyone. Everything you have all said makes sense and is extremely helpful.
If you're copying the entire text from another site, then it's not allowed in most cases, because of copyright.
The recipe itself (list of ingredients and amounts), are NOT subject to copyright. The steps to making it, in the specific sentences used by the original author ARE subject to copyright.
What I'd do in your situation, is to include the recipe (list of ingredients and amounts) in your own post and link to the original source. Descibe the steps to making it in your own words, and add a good chunk of content to the post that's 100% your own. For instance, add a couple of paragraphs about your own experience on making the recipe, and your opinion on the recipe.
I think technically you would be OK to copy/paste the recipe part if you provide a link to their website and give them credit. However, if you do this a lot on your website, rather than becoming an "authority" on the subject, you're just a hub to send people to other websites.
If you are a recipe website, you should have original recipes. If you are just doing a one-off for some reason, AND adding some original content to the post to make the page unique (not just a carbon copy alone), then it's not a big deal as long as you give the proper credit.

Recipies from other websites - is it allowed?

There are a lot of ways to hijack someone elses recipe by changing it up a little, but I consider that sort of rude.
If you have made dramatic changes to the recipe so as to make it your own signature item, then that is different. That could be based on dozens of other 'lesser' recipies and in that case attribution isn't necessary, although I would still put a "based on" mention to the main ones you developed from.
If you just want to include someone elses reciepe in a list or compilation that you publish, then get their permission, or provide a review and a link to their article.

Thanks so much for your feedback Gary. I am not looking to rip someone off here and just want to give credit where it is due.

OK.... I've narrowed it down to two...
Partiesareawesome.com
Wannahaveaparty.com
Thoughts?
Thx.
My niche is kids party ideas but eventually I'd like to expand it to parties in general. Everything party related - invitations, venues, food, decorations etc...
Partiesareawesome and wannahaveaparty both work. This seems to be a niche for those who plans to have a party. Please build on your plans for your website, it's rich. The more it suits then choose that one.
My ideas on party niche: The wedding party theme, the birthday party theme, the holidays party. Now there are party props, costumes, historical backgrounds, important cultural ties, practices, religious practices, the changes in parties, the foods, drinks, rules, rules that changed, songs, music, places to go, months of the year, products and other services, etc, and their prices......
Here are just some kinds of ideas, I guess that you have thought about it. Be passionate and go for it. Good luck!!!

Oooooooooo....some great ideas here that I never thought of. This site could explode into so many sub-niches. Thx!
need more info.. clearly party is the theme.. but what exactly? birthday? any kind? something specific?

What is the difference between owning your own domain name and the free website via SiteRubix? Would your own domain name be the niche you are writing about or a general one in
Select whats suitable to your question - and you can post your question in the classroom
my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/which-is-better-your-own-domain-or-siterubix
Own domain to me is better because I can create SiteEmail, more professional email address.
Also own domain, I can put it in Linkedin as my company or organization, siterubix is good too. As long as site gets good traffic and provides good content. ..
Thanks guys. This is helpful. So....if by starting a website on Siterubix, then being asked to transfer to a domain name, will you lose your content? And I am assuming there is no guarantee that your Siterubix name will be available as a domain name?
Hi Roxxxy, as far as I understand, the content will be transferred to the new domain, since the hosting will still be in the same hosting anyway.. so you would not loose your existing content...
To answer the second part of your question, there is no guarantee that the Siterubix name you choose for your free site will be available as a domain name, but it could be. You will find out when you try to buy it or you can use the domain search bar at Namecheap to check on its availability. ~Jude
You will easily be able to move all content from Siterubix to the new domain. This is done in Level 2, lesson 1 of your training!
Hi Roxxy
To answer your question buying your own domain will give your site a more professional appearance to anyone searching for your product or services instead of your website attached with a siterubix name attach to it. Personal in my opinion when I see a site attached with some type of affiliate link I don't take it seriously. This is why I decided to purchase my own site. Plus have your email address attached with your domain will give you a more professional look then a Hotmail or gmail account
The siterubix will always be owned by WA. Whether you have siterubix or your own domain, its name will always be relevant to your specific niche. Whilst you can "have" a maximum of two siterubix sites, you will have unlimited sites going premium. As soon as you go premium, WA will ask you to transfer your siterubix name to your own domain name. All the work you will be doing from then on, will be for your own website, not somebody else's. WA is advising to buy your own domain name at Namecheap and for a cost of $11 per year the name is yours and protected from copying. Cheers, Jerry
Generally speaking, .com is the best because it is the most well known and recognized by Traffic, but as far as ranking is concerned, any domain will work.
