Flood Inside And Out

This week marks two great events in my life. Today I got my first traffic from Google. Yesterday, my house flooded.

I'm trying to work through the literal flood but it's hard since I had to move to a hotel.

Every time I sit down to work my brain moves from my site to my house. Even with the recent success, pain seems to take priority.

Any suggestions for working through stress?

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this! Natural disasters are really the pits! Our house came within about an inch of flooding a couple of years ago. When you are in the midst of it, it is really scary and heartbreaking. So many times, there is very little warning and little time to prepare. I will pray that you recover from this and will be able to replace the items that need to be replaced. (which could be everything, I know) I am close to the wildfires in California. I am still so saddened by the fire in Paradise that killed 88 and destroyed almost 14,000 homes. May God bless you and be with you in the days ahead.

I'm so glad you're okay! Thank you for your prayers! I really need them.

I am sorry to hear about the flood. But this is what I would do try to focus on something that is fun and relaxing and what I mean is see yourself at a beach or a mountain cabin and laying on the beach reading a book or getting a suntan or even swimming.

At the mountain cabin think about skiing or even snowed in and you are sitting around the fire drinking hot chocolate. Then that should help you with the stress that would be your happy place where you can escape to when the stress gets to be too much.

I would also practice some breathing exercises for meditation and yoga. That should also help with the stress. Then I would put everything in some kind of order as to what needs to be done first.

Then make a work schedule if you want to or take a couple of days off till you get back on track. Because right now you are not focusing on work your mind is drifting to other things. And that is not good. Work can wait we will be here we are not going anywhere. I hope this helps you out.

Thank you for your wonderful advice! I will try all those exercises.

You are so very welcome it was my pleasure and I am glad that I was able to help you out. Those exercises do work and they do help out too.

Rose,
I am so sorry - going through a flood is terrible I know lost my
home in 2004 to Hurricane Ivan everything gone - but life
goes on and I eventually recovered took about 2 years - you
will as well.
And just knowing others have gone through the same before
you and survived makes a difference in dealing with it all.

I will say prayers for you and please know that all will work
out!

Susan

Thank you so much for the encouragement and prayers! You don't know how much they mean to me!

Timer, I use this method all the time to get everthing done in a day. I Priorize what needs to get done first and the amount of time is needed than divide the rest of tasks up with the left over time I have. I hope this helps.

Thank you! That's great advise. I'll try it tonight.
