Yesterday I reached 50,000 subscribers on YouTube!

Woohoo!

I share these YouTube posts to inspire and share my reflections on the journey hoping that it will be valuable when you are growing your own channels, blogs and/or social media presence.

These are just my reflections and

But today happened something surprising...

YouTube FROZE the Views! :O

I guess you have already seen that YouTube is censoring Donald Trump and showing fake views. When Trump published his famous video a few weeks ago, it had 5,5 million views extremely fast.

Then YouTube froze the views even though 1,000's comments and likes keep on pouring in every day, the view count stays at 5,5 million.

Well, now it seems that the same happened to my new video but much faster.

YouTube showed that it has 93 views a few moments after publishing.

And after 1 hour it still stands on 93 views even though comments and likes keep on coming in and obviously much more people have seen the video.

I wonder if it will stay at 93 views forever...

I'm guessing if it happened because of the title "How To Make MONEY ONLINE fast? Surprising Answer! ($50 Giveaway for Reaching 50k Subscribers!)"

There may be 2 things that YouTube might not like:

  1. "How To Make MONEY ONLINE fast" OR
  2. Giveaway

However, it still seems strange because there are numerous other videos that have the same things on the title.

In addition, 1 month ago I did a previous giveaway and it didn't freeze the view count either.

If you know the answer or you have seen YouTube freezing the views also on other occasions, let me know in the comments below!

I'd want to find out the reason.

Daily Uploading

Obviously, many factors play into the growth of a YouTube channel but I think that in my case the biggest factor has been daily uploading.

There are many reasons why I think it has helped a lot:

  1. I've got lots of data and learned what kinds of videos, titles and thumbnails work better => Better results with less effort.
  2. Followers like consistency => They follow more and share with their friends + They get into a habit of watching my videos daily, etc.
  3. It becomes a habit. Not only for my followers but also for myself and publishing a video every day has become as natural as brushing my teeth since I've been doing it since the beginning of the pandemic. In fact, some people say that publishing daily is EASIER than publishing 2-3 videos per week because when you do it daily, it's a stronger habit.

  4. More videos => Targets more keywords on the searchs + gets more views from suggested videos = more exposure

(Last spring the views jumped from around 1,000 views in day to 7,000 views in a day in 90 days after publishing videos daily.)

I have been absolutely loving the YouTube journey this year. It's been a great pleasure to connect with my subscribers and seeing also first-hand a lot of people earning money online following the steps that I've shown.

I will keep on uploading daily.

My current goals with the channel growth are:

  • 300,000 YouTube subscribers in 2021
  • 1,000,000 YouTube subscribers in 2022
  • 10,000,000 YouTube subscribers in a few years.

Obviously, if I will focus more on other projects and less on YouTube, then these goals may change but those are my current goals.

I have tons of ideas and plans regarding YouTube. Some of them I'll implement and others will probably stay just as ideas. One thing that I'd probably like to have at some point in the future is having Live meetups/conferences with subscribers. But let's see how that goes...

In any case, I'll keep on growing the channel, connecting with my subscribers daily and enjoying the process. My desire is that the channel will impact millions of people and that's the biggest driver that keeps me going every day.

Small Takeaway:

When you keep on growing your business, blog, or social media, aim for the long term.

All the time I'm surprised how many fast-growing YouTube channels quit.

I just wonder how big results they would have got if they would have kept on growing their channels... Perhaps some of them are not enjoying YouTube as much as I do or they have some other reason.

Anyway, I've had several breaks since I started my YouTube channel but I regret those breaks and I wish that I would have kept on going without breaks since the beginning. If I had done that, we would probably stand at 300,000 subscribers already...

  1. Stay consistent.
  2. Learn from your data.
  3. Never quit.

It's Your Time!

PS. Quuestion for you...

Are YOU building your own YouTube channel too?

What kinds of goals and plans do YOU have for the coming year(s)?

Tell me in the comments below! ;)

Update: After 2 hours it seems that the views have started counting again.

However, YouTube has not added those views that came in during those 2 hours. Let me know if you have experienced the same or heard any reason why did the views froze like that.

You're really doing an excellent job Roope!~^

About that freezing... I'm wondering if it's not really freezing but just a delay in the number update... A friend of mine whom I'm helping with her YT channel to increase her number of views once complained of the same... but then she noticed that her number of views increased the next day... so we concluded that sometimes there's a delay or that the update is not realtime (just our opinion)~

Congratulations on reaching 50K subscribers!~^

Thank you for the amazing breakdown on a process from building out creative work from the YouTube side!

I think it really don't matter what level, yet --you hit a nerve with the data (insight), covering the basis of what needs to be done. I will be examining my own daily uploading of data now more closely. Wow! Whew for as you say:

"Better results with less effort!"

Since I have less time in the whole of results-to-date I know for me how time invested this way-- will vary ..Except what I've experienced in other processes (with the training) & sharing examples of what that mean posting quality content. Growing from zero to numbers climbing up, plus as my stuff get google indexed. (in other processes) I can see the magic!

All the best,
WaltM

Yeah, analyzing data can give so many insights!

I've got also lots of new video ideas also after seeing that people have been finding my video after a keyword search even though my original video wasn't directly targeting that but somehow related.

But then I've created a new video targeting that new keyword specifically and many times it has worked better than the original one because it's directly answering people's needs.

That's just one of many examples how analyzing the data is beneficail.

This is very interesting. I started my YT channel about a year ago, it's more of a creative work (a funny school of magic), then this year I've added my author's vlog to it as well. I don't believe I have enough content to post daily, but so far I haven't noticed any difference when I'm posting 3x/week vs. once a week. I go back and forth on my posting sometimes.

Yeah, I see many people prefer to post more rarely. I've been testing both (3 times a week - once a day) and I noticed a big difference. So, I believe it depends on each channel and creator also.

However, I don't see a big difference in daily views if I don't upload some day because then the previous day's video will get those views. But in the longer term there was a significant difference.

Hi Roope,

Thanks for sharing your YouTube growth with us. It is very inspiring and motivating for those of us that have not yet applied a YouTube Channel to our business'' arsenal for attracting more attention to our websites.

The biggest take-a-way that I see is your consistency has helped your channel's growth. Seems to me, it has happened much faster than any of the other WA member's channel (from what I have seen).

Most of the others only post once or twice per week you on the other hand post daily: Proof that:

Consistency is the key to success,

Calvin

Thanks Calvin. Yeah, i was previously publising 3 times a week and switched to daily publishing this year and it helped a lot!

Roope, Congrats on your success and your continued progress.

Thanks for sharing this information on your YouTube journey so far - and I particularly find it useful as I am in the beginning stages of focusing on ways to grow my own channels in 2021 and beyond.

Have a great day, and I wish you all the best in all you do.

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

Awesome Ld. Let's have a great 2021!
