New Person Tips As I Learn

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to affiliate marketing. This site has been a huge help and the people are amazing! There are certain things that are not either covered or maybe they are and I just haven't got to them yet. I have had many positive experiences and negative experiences. The positive ones are so easily overlooked because it seems like everything is working like it should, then your have a bad experience (I really need to start keeping track of the positives now that I started a blog topic).

I will share something that happened to me so your new people like me can keep this in mind. But before I go into this, I really hope some of your will send me both good and bad experiences so maybe we can share this all with everyone. Just, please make sure it's in good taste.

The reason I started this is that in hind site I probably should have asked the community for advice before I began buying things.

A couple nights ago I was looking to buy a logo. I've used two companies and I have had good luck with them. If your have never used a logo making company, this is how it is usually done. If your are trying to stay on a budget, first your put in your website name. Then it will ask your to pick some colors your like, the last step before reviewing is to pick some icons or symbols. When your have all of this completed, your start picking sample models they randomly make. You can filter the color, position of your symbol, font, etc.

The last few times I have done this it went absolutely flawlessly, the only reason I went from one company to the next was because of cost. After realizing that I am building many websites I decided to search for an alternative. I found Tailor Brands. They offer a package that lets your pick a certain amount of logos per month with all the promises of the other sites that I have used in the past. They tell your that your can edit the logo after purchase and all the other stuff. I decided to give them a try because all of their logo software looked identical to the other places I have used. That is where the similarities ended.

Tailor Brands produced a logo that had the correct symbol and wording. The placement of the symbol and the font color was incorrect. I thought no big deal they state your can rearrange this after the purchase (if I didn't already do this through other companies I wouldn't of thought this was right). I made the purchase for the reoccurring membership and they showed the logo. I tried to edit it and they informed me that editing required more money on top of the membership I purchased.

I then proceeded to their help center and one of the options was "close account and request a refund". I clicked on this and wrote them an email explaining my situation. I felt that it would get remedied since they offer this option. I went back to one of my old standbys, bought a logo and put it on my site.

I woke up the next day and checked my email. In my inbox was a response from this company. They stated that they would not issue a refund due to the fact that their system could not tell if their images have been downloaded and reused. I sent them a reply with their copy and the new one I purchased along with both invoices. They know I didn't edit their logo because I didn't pay the additional money.

After that it has been several emails back and forth every time with a new person offering to make me a new logo. I don't know how many dog logos your can use but I only needed one. In response, I explain to them that I didn't use their product and I simply want a refund. So far in all of these emails all I have received in return is a runaround.

In todays day and age we unfortunately have to deal with shady online businesses. That does not mean we cannot stand up for ourselves and just lose money. We are all here to make money and make the journey together. I got to thinking what would be a good way to get this out there. I do not have thousands of followers on a social network.

Then it clicked. I do belong to a community that has millions of users that all do this either for a living or are trying to. I already lost my money, I am only sharing this to prevent your from doing the same.

You have a wealth of knowledge here. Ask people before using companies that your don't know about. Chances are someone here has already done this. Also do not use Tailor Brands for your logo making unless your are fully aware of their policies. There are better options out there. If your want help in this area just ask me. I'll tell your where I have had good luck. I do not promote any of these companies in any way, FYI.

To wrap all of this up I would really would like to hear about all of your positive and negative experiences with dealing with paid services that are related to affiliate marketing, not just logos. I would like to know for my own benefit and also to share with our community. Send me a PM with your experiences please. Hopefully there are more positive experiences than negative. We all need some of that.

Thanks for the heads up!

I have never used Tailor Brands. For my two sites, one I created a logo using Canva and the other I paid a relative who is far more creative than I to come up with one.

Cheers!

Nate
