Multi-Year Domain Purchase
A note on purchasing domain names. At least in the past, generally, your web site will be ranked higher with a multiple year purchase IE. 2 years instead of one. Think of it as a kind of "commitment factor". But if the budget is really tight, a one year purchase is always a great positive step forward.

Ron12, I'll say AMEN to that. The 'higher' rank may or may not be that important, BUT THE PITCH SURE IS GOOD, like those great UpSell, DownSell and "OK, if you must be cheap, go ahead and get the 'cheap' one, but don't say we didn't warn you. As a marketer, I don't mind it, but truth be told ...IT IS MOSTLY AN 'UPSELL' JOB ...you see everybody telling you this on the page you are signing up for is an "affiliate" of whomsoever they are suggesting we sign-up for...so there is money on the table ...BUT NOT AS TERRIBLE AS THEY LET ON TO YOU!

I have found that one year goes by pretty darn fast and before you even thought about it your credit card has been debited again just when you don't want it to.
And there are some registration sites that charge a low rate coming in (which is another reason to parley into multi year and save at the low rate) and then charge double in the 2nd year. Case in point... I purchased a domain for $8.99 a year ago (for 1 yr) and now they want $18.95 to renew it next week.
