Understanding the difference between Copy writing and Content writing.

I recently listened and watched a webinar about becoming a Copy-writer. Seems there is great demand for people who are able to do this kind of writing. Of course, with all webinars, there is a cost to learn how to become a copy-writer and it was way too steep for almost anyone I know... $10,000. There was certainly bonuses and promises galore!

So what is the difference between creating "Copy" versus "Content"?

Copy = SELL vs. Content = TEACH

• Describes the experience vs. Makes a promise to teach
• Describes the WHAT vs. Describes the HOW
• Sell the Sizzle NOT the Steak vs. How to cook the Steak
• Contains many loops - break points vs. Has only 1 loop
• Never provide the answer vs. Delivers the answer
• No closure vs. Closure
• Takes you to an offer - Call to Action throughout vs. Once you are done - you're done
• Must capture (keep) the reader's interest vs. Reader is there to learn
